GREYHOUND---Tom Hanks is the star/writer of this Sony Pictures World War II movie based on the novel by CS Forester (THE AFRICAN QUEEN, Horatio Hornblower novels) about an older Navy officer, plagued by self-doubt, who is finally given command of a destroyer that will escort a convoy across the Atlantic.

THE CATCHER WAS A SPY---Paul Rudd, Paul Giamatti, Jeff Daniels and Guy Pearce star in this biomovie about pro baseball player Mo Berg and his career as a World War II spy for the OSS.

Watched this one last night and thought it very good. Don't think the allies were as successful against U boats this early in the war as portrayed in the movie but the masses must be entertained. Chris
 
I enjoyed it but felt it seemed like a long scene from a longer movie that was missing the rest.
 
Now listening to the audio version of The Good Sheppard, the CS Forester book which the movie depicts. Good story from Forester of course. Has many references to Biblical verses which may turn off some. Written in a different time. Chris
