Over run the gun, that's the aim and they have done it. Glad you are doing WW1, my current collection also Wayne. Looked at this gun heaps of time due to the great camo, but so far resisted buying. Keep the diorama's coming. Cheers, Robin.

It's probably just me but if I were 'over-running' a gun, I'd try and avoid approaching it directly at it's dangerous end!

By the way Wayne have you seen the German canon in Anzac Park at Nundah?

I've stopped to look it over a few times but I can't remember whether its a 1.05 or 150mm? I often wish there was a Japanese one from WW2 to match it. We captured heaps but virtually all were just dumped in the sea. There might have been something at the RSL at Banjo a few years ago but whatever it was, it's been replaced by some standard Australian piece.

When I was a kid they were just about in every park and in front of all R.S.L's but with the health and safety rules these days the councils have got rid of them in fear of been sued and etc.
A real shame if you ask me, part of growing up is falling out of trees and the like but cotton wool appears the order of the day.

Some of the more interesting and rare pieces disappeared from parks when the Australian War Memorial staff replaced them with more generic pieces like the ubiquitous 25 pounder. (Dictionary time Larso!!)

Wayne mate, another fine piece of work. And your background pic explanation to me on the Desert sign thread tells me that that odd tree/bush in the middle of the pic is your "Pic Splice Camouflage". {sm4 That works for me.

The War Memorial itself. What was freely available to place in a park in 1920 was of course more valuable in 1990!
