Dear All
Welcome to a great release from Gunn Miniatures, a little larger than normal
as we will have a smaller than normal release next month, due to the
Christmas holiday season and our office closing around the 16th December.

The Spartans

SPA001; A beautifully painted figure from our newest range of Ancients the
Spartans. We have made 100 of these figures, if demand warrants it we will
make another batch but for the moment this is it.
Please note the spear on this figure has been amended and is pointed at both
ends now to reflect a traditional style Greek fighting spear.
Another 6 Spartans have been sculpted before we start moving onto the
enemies of Greece namely the Persian army. This already looks like to be a
heart stopping range from the poses and colour schemes that are going to be
on offer in the very near future.
Priced at $49/£39 and available now.

The Romans
Our Roman series continue to expand with some very useful and flexible
additions. Although 2016 has seen some great looking Roman figures we will
be adding more to this range in 2017 with a War Elephant, Testudo and
Command Tent with Emperor and Praetorian guards as requested by many of you.
Auxiliary infantry and cavalry are also in the pipeline as well as the long
awaited enemies of Rome. For those of you collecting the black shield
variants please note we are nearly out and down to single figures of all
these figures and expect to sell out shortly.

ROM015; A Centurion directs his men into battle. Probably one of our best
painted and detailed figures to date and hence a little more expensive at
$55/£45. Comes in 3 versions, the classic Minerva Legion with red shield
(unlimited) and the 9th/30th Legions with the black shields limited to 100
pieces of each.

ROM018; A Legionnaire prepares to thrust his sword into one of Rome’s many
enemies of the period. Once again available in 3 versions, the red shield
Minerva legion which are unlimited, the 9th and 30th lack shield Legion
which are limited to 100 pieces and all priced at $49/£39. Please note the B
version are not in stock yet but will be shortly.

ROM024; A legionnaire stands ready to go into battle or can be used as a
sentry, priced at $49/£39 and available in the normal 3 variations. Please
note the B version are not in stock yet but will be shortly.

ROM026; A new version of ROM019 but this time without the leg armour and a
nicely detailed haversack to add some variety to your current ROM019
marching figures. Available in 3 versions and priced at $49/£39 per figure.
Please note the B version are not in stock yet but will be shortly.

ROM027A; The Imaginifer was one of the Signiferi of the Legion and tasked
with carrying the image of the Emperor during the times of the Roman empire.
This figure alas a little more expensive at $55/£45 but definitely worth it.

ROM027B; The Aquilifer was one of the most important soldiers within a
legion tasked with carrying the Legions Eagle. This figure priced at $55/£45
and limited to 100 in number.

ROM028A; An Aquilifer with silver parade face mask stands ready to lead his
men into battle. Priced at $55/£45 and available now.

ROM028B; An Imaginifer with silver parade face mask stands ready to go into
action, priced at $55/£45 and available now.

The Great War

GW069A; A classic looking German infanteer with Pickelhaube headdress
relaxes with rifle slung over his shoulder. The third figure in our ‘Tinker,
Tailor, Soldier Sailor series’ and priced at $41/£32 with 100 being
available.

GW070A; German naval ace Friederich Christiansen relaxes with a cup of
coffee in between aerial patrols, dressed in traditional naval dress.
Christiansen had at least 13 confirmed kills including the Royal Navy
airship C27. Priced at $41/£32 and limited to 100 in number. For those of
you have not guessed it this is the 4th figure in our ‘Tinker, Tailor,
Soldier, Sailor release.’

GW070B; Christiansen’s rear gunner Bernhard Wladicka smokes a cigarette
whilst chatting with Christiansen, interestingly Wladicka wears a naval
blazer with the thicker wool army issue trousers! Priced at $41/£32 and
limited t0 100 in number.

GW073A The Red Baron; After many requests we have released a pilot preparing
to climb into his aircraft. This one none other than Manfred Von Richoften
the greatest aerial ace of WW1 with 80 kills to his name. Priced at
$43.50/£33.50 and limited to 100 in number.

GW073B: Raymond Collishaw a Canadian ace who joined the Royal Navy to become
one of its highest scoring aces prepares to climb into his aircraft. Priced
at $43.50/£33.50 and limited to 100 in number.

World War 2

RAF002; An RAF sentry stands guard or on parade, limited to 100 in number
and priced at $41/£32 per figure.

RS042B; The Desert version of our recently released Aussie jungle mortar
team, limited to 100 in number and priced at $95/£75 per 2 figure set and
mortar.

Phew well I think that’s enough for anybody and everybody, Later this month will
see the release of some all new WW2 aircraft including a DFS230 German
assault glider and an SM79 Italian torpedo bomber in a stunning colour
scheme!

Best wishes The Gunn Team

Really neat looking figures. I like the airman climbing into their airplanes and the 1914 German infantryman with the uncovered pickelhaube. As to the Christiansen and Wladicka figures, can a Hansa-Brandenburg W-29 for them to fly be far behind?:wink2:^&cool -- Al

I quite like the 1914 figure and have ordered that. Is this a one off or will we see more of them.

Yes we have more marching Germans coming in this relaxed vein as well as a few others in non fighting poses.

Hi,

Excuse my ignorance, but would ladders' have been used to climb into the cockpit of an aircraft in WW1?

Excellent figures by the way!

Thanks

Pete

Pete, it was quite common to use ladders to get into cockpits in WW1. The heavy clothing required in even mild weather made getting into cockpits quite a endeavor. There are many photos of ladders against aircraft and several photos of them in use, as well. -- Al

Thanks Al!

You (and Moe) are the 'font of all knowledge' regarding WW1 aviation! (Especially when a numpty such as me is involved) Thank you so much for your reply. I've hopefully got these sets on order.

Pete
