Dear All
Welcome to our last figure release for 2016, a small but not insignificant
release I hope and also with some news on future developments here at Gunn
HQ.

ROM018,19,24 and 26 the missing B version Legionnaires have just come into
stock, see pictures attached of these limited edition figures which are
available now.
Restock of ROM001/005A now in and all sold out on pre-order, if you do
require any more of these please let us know as otherwise these will be the
last ones we make.
ROM018A first batch sold out already, will be replaced by another similar
figure soon, the B and C versions almost gone as well. It seems fighting
Romans a popular bet with collectors and we will be adding to these in 2017
with more figures in a similar vein.
The Spartans
No new Spartans this month unless our shipment comes in earlier than
expected, but just to let you know we have now sold 100 out of the first 100
of SPA001, a new batch has been ordered and will be in stock next year. In
January we will see 4 more fighting Spartans to complement the series,
February or March should see a Persian enemy for our brave but very
outnumbered Spartans.
The Great War
GW071 The Washer Man: A soldier carries out some basic Dhobi in a wooden
bucket, will look great in a behind the lines scenario with our other
similar vein figures, The Tinker, Tailor and the Orderly. Comes in 2
versions with a British soldier A version and a German soldier B version.
Priced at $41 and limited to 100 in number each version worldwide.
GW074A Ernst Udet one of Germany’s most successful aces; Udet joined the
German Imperial Air Service when he was 19 years if age and ended WW1 with a
total of 62 kills to his name, second only to the Red Baron. After the war
Udet went onto become a stunt pilot and was also something of a playboy
despite being only 5 ft 3 inches tall. In 1933 he joined the Nazi party and
was appointed director for research and development, he eventually rose to
become director general of equipment for the Luftwaffe. Udet found his role
particularly stressful especially after the Luftwaffe failed to secure
aerial supremacy during the Battle of Britain and came into regular conflict
with Hermann Goring. In June 1941 Germany invaded Russia and with the
strain this put on him and not helped by his dependency on alcohol and
depression, Udet shot himself whilst on the telephone to his girlfriend.
During his career he was awarded the Blue Max and The knights Cross, he was
only 45 years old when he died. In our rendition of Udet we see him about to
climb into his aircraft with a final wave to his comrades.
GW074B William Bishop: Billy Bishop was a Canadian flying ace credited with
72 victories making him the highest scoring Canadian pilot of WW1. After the
war Bishop went into the aviation business with Willy Barker which was
short-lived due to financial and legal difficulties, he dabbled in various
other businesses before re-enlisting into the RCAF and was instrumental in
setting up the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan during WW2. The war
took its toll on his health and Bishop died peacefully in his sleep in 1956
aged 62 years old, he was awarded the Victoria Cross amongst many other
awards during his service to his country.
Both versions of GW074 limited to 100 in number and priced at $41
Those of you at the London show will have seen the all new Siemens Schuckert
flown by Udet and the first of our Fokker 7’s ‘The Seven Swabians’ in
lozenge pattern fabric, news of these 2 new aeroplanes to be announced as
well as others shortly.
World War 2
LUFT010 Mechanic with Feral Cat, a Luftwaffe mechanic looks on bemused at a
kitten which has come to visit him! A 3 piece set priced at $43.50 and
limited to 100 in number.
LUFT 014 Major Bruno Meyer: The inspiration behind the Airfix Henschel
HS129 75mm tank buster box art and the inspiration for us making this
aircraft. Meyer was a decorated pilot of the highest order with 500 combat
missions to his name and over 50 tanks destroyed whilst flying the HS129 and
FW190. He was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross and survived the
war, something of a miracle considering the hazardous nature of a tank
buster pilot in the 1940’s! Our rendition of Meyer has him taking a photo
perhaps before another mission, this figure limited to 100 in number and
priced at $41.
As mentioned above we have made a HS129 with long 75mm cannon and shorter
37mm cannon, both of these models will be available to order soon.
CLUB021 The Jaeger: A welcome return for our Club figures this time in the
form of a 1914 Jaeger in traditional Shako. Free to all Gunn Club members
who spend £100/$150 with us through our website. Alternatively he can be
purchased at the regular price of $41/£32, please note we have only made 80
of these figures for worldwide distribution.
That’s it for this year folks as far as figures are concerned (except maybe
our new Spartans if they arrive later this month), there will be a WW1
aircraft release this week with news of some very exciting models, which
will be available in limited numbers now but also available to pre-order for
the new year.
Best wishes and thank you for all your support!
The Gunn Team
I too really like these extra 'atmosphere' things T Gunn add to their ranges, i have the cats Grandson or Grand Daughter and it has turned sides and is in RAF set number RAF001. Another great touch was the Cricket bat and ball.
