Dear All

Welcome to Februarys releases from Gunn Miniatures, hopefully there is something for everybody.

There was unfortunately a communication breakdown with our factory on a couple of sets and instead of making the normal 100 of the A version and 75 on the B version, the factory have only made 50 of each version. This has occurred on our NAPS, FIW and SFA ranges this month, if there is a dramatic shortfall compared to demand then we will recast some more of these sets. However what is listed below is what is available at this moment in time

As always we start off in historical order of events:

The French Indian War

FIW008: A Redcoat leans forward looking out for Indians or more French whilst cocking his rifle,

this time we have 2 versions with 50 of the A version in brown gaiters, whilst the remaining 50 in the B version have black gaiters and a nasty looking head wound. These figures are 54mm please note and will fit in with JJD and Britain's FIW Series.

Priced at $40/£29.50 each and available here for dispatch with the rest of this month's releases within the next 7 days.

The Napoleonic War

A return at last to the Napoleonic war to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Waterloo.

This time we have released the first of 12 figures from the 2nd Battalion The Kings German Legion, who gallantly fought at La Haye Sainte the day before the Battle of Waterloo. These figures are smaller than our normal size figures and will fit in with K&C, JJD and Britain's Napoleonic figures.

NAP032A is our first figure which comprises a rifleman kneeling ready to move off, the B version features a patch on his trousers and a cut to his face which will give those of you buying multiples a little variety.

NAP031 Standing Firing has been delayed and will follow next month.

This figure is priced at $40/£29.50 each and a big thank you to John OBrien in Perth with his technical help with these figures!

Scramble for Africa Series

SFA021A/B features a very dramatic rifleman from the 24th Regt of foot thrusting down with his bayonet. This figure will look great on top of a wagon, sandbag redoubt or on the ground finishing of a wounded Zulu.

The A version features a soldier in the traditional blue trousers and the B version features the same figure but wearing locally made white trousers. These figures priced at $40/£29.50 and limited to 50 of each version.

World War 1

There are 2 figures this month for the Great War, the first one features a German soldier GW046 'Standing Ready.' Our A version figure wears a gasmask and sports a Stormtrooper style helmet, whilst the B version is dressed for conventional combat ready to advance. Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40/£29.50 each figure.

Our second figure, GW052 is a French sentry figure very useful for any diorama and will fit in size wise with K&C or JJD's French figures. Priced at $40/£29.50 and limited to 100 in number.

World War 2

RS011 Allied Officer with grenade. An Allied officers prepares to throw a grenade amongst the enemy, limited to 100 in number and priced at $40/£29.50 each.

RS012 Patrol figure. Our first of several Allied patrol soldiers, armed with an Owen Machine gun moves cautiously forward.

Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40/£29.50 each.

LUFT015 Major Martin Drewes was a German nightfighter ace who mainly flew the ME BF110 earlier in the Desert and then later over Germany. Drewes was awarded the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves and is credited with 52 kills, mainly RAF and USAAF heavy bombers. He survived the war and emigrated to Brazil where he married and stayed there until his death in 2013. As nightfighting was a dangerous business we have sculpted Drewes with his arm in sling recovering from a wound, perhaps inflicted by a Lancaster or a B17 gunner, who were equally determined not to be his latest kill! Limited to 100 in number for the Defence of the Reich version and 50 in number for the Desert version. Priced at $40/£29.50

LUFT016 Prinz Wittgenstein another nightfighter ace credited with 83 victories whilst flying the ME 110 and the nightfighter variant of the JU88. Wittengstein came from an aristocratic family and by 1943 had become severely disillusioned with Hitler and the Nazi party. He confided with his mother that he planned to kill Hitler, whilst he was being awarded the Knights Cross. However Wittengstein is known to have a strong sense of duty and was in competition with Major Lent, another nightfighter ace, to become the Luftwaffe's top ranking night-time pilot. Perhaps this was his reason for not attempting to kill Hitler whilst he had the opportunity? I am not sure whether the Fuehrer's security team would have let an armed pilot in the same room as Hitler, it's all speculation at the end of the day as to what might have happened. Regardless Wittgenstein is reported to have been killed in January 1945 by a British Mosquito crew flown by Pilot Officer Desmond Snape. On the night in question Wittgenstein had already shot down 4 Lancaster's and was attacking a 5th when he himself came under fire. Wittgenstein ordered his crew to jump, who all survived, however Wittgenstein was found dead the next day on the ground with a fracture to the head and his parachute unopened. It is presumed he hit the tail fin of his Junkers as he attempted to bail out, which would have either killed him or knocked him unconscious.

Our version of Wittgenstein shows him on crutches perhaps talking with Martin Drewes as they compare wounds! Limited to 100 in number for Defence of the Reich series and another 50 in number with this figure dressed in tropical dress, once again priced at $40/£29.50

PARA014: A unique release for us in the form of a Flamethrower team. This is a 2 figure set with 1 figure taking aim with his Lifebuoy flamethrower, whilst his number 2 waits with Sten Gun ready in case he is needed as back up. Priced at $80/£58.99 and limited to 100 in number.

CLUB Edwin Swales B version in Desert dress is available along with the A version (sold out). As mentioned in last month's dispatches, Swales was awarded the VC for his actions in selflessly keeping his aircraft in the air until his crew had managed to bail out to safety. This version limited to 70 in version and free to all Gunn Club members with all orders over £100/$150. Alternatively Club members can also buy this figure direct thru us at the normal retail price.

That all for this months, best wishes to one and all. If you no longer wish to receive this newsletter please email me with 'UNSUBSCRIBE' in capital letters in the header.

Best wishes Vicki Lucas

Some nice looking figures as always. Good to see that they are compatible with other makers' releases.

Are there some photos missing? Robin. Oops suddenly they have appeared. All good, thanks Wayne. Robin.

Great looking figures! I'll be picking these up and eagerly awaiting subsequent releases.
Cheers,

Love the German pilot on crutches and also the one with his arm in a sling.
and at last, the 1st of the Aussie patrol figures
These are my favourites this month
guy:)

I’m happy to collect various TG series: the French Foreign Legion, the South Africa and the FIW. I believe these miniatures very well sculpted and accurate. While the first two series are 60mm the FIW Royal Americans are lower and more lean and slender.
I love the FIW period and my mainly collection consists of JJD figures. Unfortunately I’d have hoped to join the TG 60th Rgt. to JJD sets but the difference in size is too obvious as seen from the pictures below.
Why TG has not kept the same scale of the other two series for the Royal Americans? I believe that these may fit well with Britain but not with JJD. What a shame!
Cheers
Carlo

I would agree with this statement. I bought the first 3 TG Royal American figures only to find that they were well underscaled to my JJ figures. My UK supplier was kind enough to let me return them. I was surprised as the TG Napoleonics that I have are good bulky 60mm ?

Not sure what I am more excited to see the regular TGM monthly releases or the new wow warbird releases. As I told my local wbritains dealer, TGM is making the best and most innovative AZW figs on the market. For some reason, wbritains figures look to be shrinking in size? Albeit still looking for the FFL artillery piece to be released... and maybe consider doing the AZW Russell rocket battery...
