FJ014 The Breakfast Club, Featuring Rolf Jager and Rudolf Witzig: Two new well known FJ's (both Knights Cross recipients) this time in a more relaxed mode around a camp fire cooking an egg for breakfast! Set comes complete with the two figures, MP40's, FJ Helmets, bottle of beer and cooking fire.

There will be a part 2 very soon for this set, featuring two more KC winners to go with the above figures.

Limited to 100 in number and priced at $85/£69 for the set.

RS002 B

Our last Japanese Marine sentry sold out very quickly and we have therefore released a new version but very similar to the first!

This soldier is actually from the army and he wears the soft cap with Japanese yellow star embroided on the cap.

Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40/£29.50

CLUB 18

Captain Edwin Swales VC was a South African pilot seconded to the RAF from the SAAF. He was attached to 582 Sqn Pathfinders and was the lead Pathfinder aircraft on the night of 23rd February 1945 when he was awarded his VC. Swales was flying an Avro Lancaster and was part of a 370 strong forces of Lancasters bombing Pforzheim that night.

During the raid Swales aircraft was attacked by an ME110 which knocked out 2 of the Lancasters engines. Although Swales knew his aircraft would not make it back to 'Blighty' he endeavoured to get the aircraft as far back inside friendly territory as possible so that the crew could bail out safely. As they crossed the French border Swales ordered his crew to abandon the aircraft, no sooner had they all parachuted to safety then the aircraft stalled and crashed into the ground killing Swales.

Swales was awarded the Victoria Cross for extreme gallantry and selflessly putting his crews life before his own.

Club 18 will come in 2 versions: A standard RAF blue uniform colour scheme for January and a B version for February with Swales wearing tropical style trousers.

As Swales was a keen sportsman who excelled at Rugby as well as other sports we have sculpted Swales in relaxed dress, ready to stroll out to the cricket pitch and knock out a few 'Sixes' with his crew.

Unfortunately our factory forgot to add a moustache to Swales and his SAAF wings to his flying jacket! This means Club 18 A and B will both be available next month instead of this month! All Club members who qualify for a figure this month will receive their A version figure in February as well as the B version, if they qualify for that version as well.

If you just wish to purchase Swales on his own please drop me an email and we will reserve him.

We will be making 70 of each version of Club 18, total 140 figures.

A thank you to Damian in SA who bought this very brave airman to our attention in the first place!

I hope all the above notes make sense, if you need further clarification please do not hesitate to email me. If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter please reply with 'UNSUBSCRIBE' in capital letters and I will no longer bother you!

Best Wishes

Very nice figures ( Like very much the Fj and the German GW figures) but where is the Aussie jungle patrol? I hope I did not buy my Aussie radio operator for nothing !!!!!!
guy:)

Vicki,

thanks for the details of the club figure, Captain Edwin Swales VC ...

looking at the image, I couldn't work out who 'he was batting for' .... thought he was a 'fly boy' but no insignia.

Will we getting the rest of the team, so we can have a Test Match too? Sometime in the future ? :)

John

P.S. I love the 'The Breakfast Club' set, even though I don't collect WW2, I'm sure similar poses could be made for all campaigns and eras,
because all soldiers know, most of the time is spent 'waiting and having a brew' and/or a smoke :)

Hi John
Yes we have a couple more players to be added, one of them I am hoping is going to be an Aussie and the other a Brit so we have a 'friendly' cricket match in front of the, dare I say it 'K&C' cricket pavilion?!
There will be a few surprise guests also invited in on this theme - so watch out for future releases.
Best wishes Vicki (from a rainy England - not much cricket going on here today!)

I was wondering who would be the first to do the 17th in matte.... hopefully more are in the offering to form a troop for the battle of ulundi

Vivki...

is there any news on some Tauregs forthcoming for the French Foreign Legion series...

or maybe some Arabs from Lawrence of Arabia to fight the Foreign Legionnaires?

Vicki...
that is great news...
had I not been so visual looking at pics...
I would have seen this in my news letter...

"Talking of Arabs we have something like 10 being sculpted and these will make an appearance very soon!"

thanks for pointing it out to me...

I know the feeling Mike, I often get carried away looking at the pictures as well and then forget all about the blurb!

Vicki...

if the pictures weren't so good...I might have seen that...^&grin

Do you think I could get away with not writing anything and just email out the pictures each month?!? Now theres a thought!
It would make my job a hell of a lot easier!
Best Vicki

Been using that same excuse for over 50 years and no one's bought it yet. I now get it for the clever comics and other humor. -- Al
