A question for the real buffs. Has King & Country ever made a Gurka Band set?
If so could some one give me some information of the set or sets that made it up.
Any pictures would be helpful as well.

Many Thanks.

I believe there were three different ghurka bands made. All were made in gloss. I have two of the three and are shown in my albums under glossy K&C. I am still hunting for the third set, but Louis Badolato has the the other set and if you ask him, he will photograph it and have it posted by fellow treefroggers. As an alternative, and taken with much better photographic skill, all three bands as well as other bands are pictured in Kevin Elliott's book on glossy K&C that can be purchased on blurb.com. I am sure Louis will pipe in :D and correct any incorrect information I may have provided you. Hope this helps answer your question.

Many thanks Lawrence Lo for your trouble. That information is very helpful.

I may well come back at a later date to pick your brains again! ;)

My pleasure - not a trouble at all. Always a pleasure to help a fellow collector as so many other collectors have helped me and continue to help me in this wonderful hobby.

I am currently visiting London and if time permits - and more importantly - if my wife permits, I will try to find a few toy soldier shops to visit. Must admit that in my haste to get to the airport, I left my wallet with my credit cards at home:eek:, which means I have to rely on my wife's credit cards to pay for any toys I may find - guess I won't be buying much this trip:( Not too bad of a thing though - get to spend quality time with my wonderful wife and daughter - the real priorities in life:).

So, as to help arrange my wife and daughter have their quality time together, if you know of any department stores that happen to be near toy soldier shops in London, please let me know:D.

All the best,
Lawrence

Lawrence,

Here's a link to the K&C's UK stockists which should satisfy your curiosity.

There's a stockist in Piccadilly which is close to main shopping thoroughfares in Oxford\Regent Street or even afternoon tea at the Ritz. ;)

Enjoy your stay.

Colin
