I'm flying my parents home for my new sons first X-mas so I thought I'd give my mom a treat and set up her old Department 56 Dickens Village. When they became snowbirds she gave it to me. I have not had the room to set it up in the past but this year at the Chicago Show I met a fellow collector that lived up in Wisconsin. He was selling this custom made cabinet so I bought it from him. I will wait til after the holidays to fill it with soldiers. Happy Holidays all!

Very nicely done! A great Xmas display! Can you photograph the other shelves?

I like the look of the Dept 56 displays with the lighting effects, but the TS collector in me is still bothered by the scale difference between the figures and the building.

Greaty looking display of Dept. 56. Very festive looking. I also like using Dept. 56 items (Village of Bethlehem) for my desert scenics. I have found that if I choose the items carefully there is very little scale difference and they fit well with my K&C Crusaders. K&C also uses many of these same Dept 56 bethlehem items in their dioramas, quarterly magazine, and range flyers.

Once again, really great display. Your mother will be very pleased. Merry Christmas.

Mike

Wow!
What a treat for the whole family! The rents will love it, I'm sure Junior loves it, And I know you love it! It's a labour of love, so to speak, and is a great idea for the occasion.
Merry Christmas to you and all your loved ones, especially Junior;),

Having to spend some time with an old flame who rescued me during the ice storm and put me up for a few days I made it a point to take a few photos of what she set up for the Christmas Holidays and gents we are not the only one's who can provide some outstanding dioramas. Here's wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and Warbuff26 thanks for starting this thread and sharing the photos you've taken............The Lt.

That's a really nice display. Have you got perimeter protection to ward off small, enquiring hands?

Joe, you make it sound like a hardship, which I don't believe for one second! ;)

Remember, we've seen your photo albums. :p

Great layout your friend has.

You guys up North have a real Christmas. White stuff on the floor and cold enough to wear a scarf and jacket. Round here we are reaching for teh aircon already and it is not even January yet. Happy Christmas one and all and thanks for that great display.

Damian

Will the 2nd Warwickhire be at home barracks in Brecon this Christmas?;)
A wonderful village display. I think everyone on this forum has an affinity for Dept. 56...It's so parallel with our hobby!
Merry Christmas!!!
