Lightning Ace Jack Ilfrey of 79th FS, 20th FG poses in front of his P-38J "Happy Jack's Go Buggy" at Kingscliffe England 1944.

Although not a perfect scale matchup (the plane is a 1/32 Revell model kit) I decided to photo anyway. Actually a pilot would look a good bit smaller up against a P-38 Lightning which was a massive fighter plane.

Looks fine Duke and works quite well. I think many will use a 1/32 aircraft when needed . :salute::

Duke looks cool mate, now all you need is a photographer figure.....:wink2::salute::
Wayne.

Looks good .. perhaps if the pilot figure was moved a few inches into the foreground and further from the plane, the scale difference would be very difficult to discern.

Very good Duke and even though the bloke kneeling on the ground is not a perfect match up to the P38, the pic's still look great!

Thanks guys for the comments.

OD, thanks for the suggestion and I've done that in the past as well and it does work. For this scene, I had originally wanted the pilot next to the plane but did take some more pictures with the pilot moved into the foreground a little bit. Here are some of those...

You many say it not to scale. But it sure looks real good to Me. Also You did a great job on the model kit. Again it really looks great. Thanks for posting.{bravo}}%^V{bravo}}

Great set-up!

I wonder whatever happened to the Figarti P-38 "California Cutie" introduce 2 years ago at the Westcoaster.

Here's a photo of Ilfrey standing next to his P-38J giving a good indication of size.

Thanks Mr. Colt 45. It can photograph ok with the K&C figure, but to be true to scale the figure would need to be much smaller. Here is a FOV 1/32 pilot up next to the 1/32 P-38 model. Look how he compares to the photo of Ilfrey (http://www.edwards.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/web/090528-F-1234P-001.jpg) (US Air Force photo). I used the kneeling pilot originally to try and make the scale difference not so noticeable, but with the standing K&C pilot it's even more obvious. Thanks for the positive comments.
