Happy Veterans' Day to those members who have served. I thank you for my freedom, and my family's safety.
Brendan,It was nice weather for the Remembrance Day at the RCHA Memorial in Kingston, Ontario today. Here's a photo of me beside my sergeant major flanked by officer cadets from RMC about to lay a wreath at the memorial.

Very nice story and touching.Brendan,
Thank you for your service, and the photo. One of my proudest moments as mayor of the tiny village I live in was dedicating the Village's Veterans' Memorial on the exact 100 anniversary of the end of the Great War, November 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. On the day I took office a few years earlier, I had declared that I would not be the mayor of the only village I had ever heard of without a Veterans' Memorial. I recruited a scout to raise money as his Eagle Project, and personally donated the remaining money for the monument beyond what he could raise. I was between back surgeries at the time, and leaned on a walker as I introduced the young scout and ceded him the honor of dedicating the monument. Afterwards, I hosted a lunch at my home for all of the Veterans who attended the dedication. I couldn't walk up stairs, so my 12-year-old son Alec took the Veterans upstairs to see our collection of toy soldiers and militaria. The Veterans told me he gave a great tour and really knew his stuff. I couldn't have been more proud of him. Here are a couple of photos I later took of the monument and surrounding reflection garden at Village Hall.
