Hi guys
I have never mentioned K+C prices before but the new FW has seemed to jump nearly 60 pounds :confused:
This is a beautiful plane but i dont think i will be able to these much longer:eek: but my anniversary is coming up so hope my wife takes the hint:D
Regards Scott

the prices are shooting up.
$215 for the new landing craft, when the brit one was $159?
and the FW costs $199, whilst Rommel's Desert Taxi which comes with 2 figures cost $189?:(

i think i'll just narrow down to one or 2 civilians, and skip the rest.

The landing craft does come with an extra figure does it not? and if it is larger than the Brit one I guess that would justify the increase.

Back when I started collecting just a few years ago some of my first purchases were AK019/Panzer III - $89, DD051 Churchill - $89, DD045 Sherman - $89. All of these sets had at least 2 crew. Now comparable tanks (although tanks improved, figures about the same) DD135/Firefly - $159, DD093 Classic Sherman - $149. Figures used to sell in sets of 4 for $89. Now they are mostly single figures for $32 apiece ($128 for 4). I'm aware that prices increase over time, always have and always will I guess (except I haven't had a raise in over 3 years due to the economy) and that improvements are made, etc. But everything just seems to have increased fairly rapidly. It all just means for me that I can only purchase about 1/2 as much as I used to because my budget figures haven't gone up with the prices. :(Oh, well... I still have my health though so all's good:)

We've talked about the FW and Landing craft, but how about those Civvies!.Sraight out of the movie 'Dunkirk',can't wait to try a scene with civvies and FOR Brits trudging back to the coast. These are excellent looking figures and I think they will prove very popular with collectors.

Dear "wwiibuff":

Ah, tell me about it! K&C prices have really gone up in the past few years or so. I have a K&C price list from February 2000 and a single figure cost between $19.00 & $22.00 USD with only the real fancy ones at $22.00 USD. By about 2003 normal single figures were at about $21.00 USD. In 2007 prices were at $25.00 USD per figure. Now in 2010 they are at $33.00 per figure, ugh! My local dealer says it is the cost of metal & higher labor costs in China. In any case, "I feel your pain!".

Guys, have just been having a longer look at the Landing Craft and FW 190,check out the weathering and detail on these items. It really is very well done.Look at the dirt/weathering above the wing on the FW,looks very good to me.Gradually month after month K&C are really nailing the dirt and wear and tear on their items. The FW looks as if it really has seen some service and is a terrific looking model, what they started with the Hurricane and P51 now continues with the Butcher bird, great stuff:cool::cool:

Rob

Yes Rob, we'll have are hats off now that there's a second player in the Fw-190 game....Tom Gunn's version maybe......and maybe will be, what.... we'll see soon..:eek::cool:

Have you seen the Tom Gunn's version

With these price increases and the Euro dropping rapidly in value I think I'll
concentrate on my other hobbies!
Did I tell you about CMC's new Ferrari coming out this summer.........?

higher labor cost in china,,LOL

Confed mounted figures listed on ebay right now are going for a little over 1/2 ($40) what their retail value is ($79). With prices the way they are right now I can get the same figure I would get from a retailer on ebay in mint or near to mint condition. As much as I like to give my business to the retailer it is more practical with sky rocketing prices to get them on ebay a few months later when someone changes their minds and decides to sell.

Dear "bromhead":

Yes, just after I posted the comments about why K&C prices have gone up so much in recent years I saw an article in the business section of our local newspaper that noted that due to the high demand of labor, at least more skilled labor, labor costs costs are going up indeed in China.

Regards, "Iron Brigade"
