Have we seen 'Peak Saxons and Viking'? (1 Viewer)

See below pictures of a collection, Saxons and Vikings, i was and continue to be impressed with the range, thought they were getting a bit 'samish', so have not bought as many as i did before, moved on to the Trojans, but still pick up them regularly. I know there was a thread that highlighted the Norman releases were coming to an end, but can anyone shead light on if the Saxons and Viking will be stopped or paused? As were the Almoravid and Aztec ranges. I can understand why John has done this, so not being critical.

I still have a way to go to strengthen and increase my Saxon Shield Wall and to reinforce my Norsemen from the sets already released. So will continue collect, at current rate will take me 2 to 3 years, as long as something new does not come along, which i know it will. I am hoping for some new Jacobites or Romes Western Enemies, new Icieni, Gauls and Germanic warriors would be great.

Would like the Viking Ship, but a bit out of budget, it looks awesome from the pictures i have seen on the TFrog threads.

Not sure on the current state of the Saxons but I have a feeling John will be winding them down also. I believe the Vikings will still be viable for awhile yet. Time will tell.

My Saxon shield wall now stretches across the entire length of a 6-foot display base. I keep having to readjust with every new Saxon release.

Pending future Vikings, our last purchases for the forseeable future will be 4 Norman Crossbowmen. Then we may be done. At over 100 JJD figs, which would've been more had we not had other (mainly Conte) sets.
It has been a great time!

Impressed and jealous all at the same time. Have you counted them? I decided to group my wall according to the shield colour, as i thought there would be men from different villages in a Fyrd Saxon Shield wall and they were fortmed to defend their village and at the call of their Lord, with each having had a uniform shield colour/design.

I drive a lot through what would have been the battlegrounds of Wessex and Mercia. It is now a pleasant place, rolling hills and a comparatively gental landscape, but visiting places such as the site of the Battle of Edington make you think it was always not as peaceful as it is now.

I agree, i think the Saxons are almost done and a few more Vikings and we know we have a handful of Normans. I have everything in this range and 99% of the colour variants as well. Its definitely my favourite, i have heaps and love it but am happy for it to be done
