So wow, no thread on this series? Has anyone been watching? If not, you missed the highest rated TV show ever and IMO, the most powerful thing I've ever witnessed on television, a theater screen or anywhere for that matter.

Brilliant in every way, gut wrenching and heartbreaking all rolled into one.

It's simply a must see event.

I have it recorded.

Binge watching it would be ideal, but strap yourself in, there are moments that are not for the faint of heart...…………...wow is all I can say, compelling television to say the least.

I've been trying to catch up on everything I watch but can't seem to.I might watch this this weekend.

It is on my list but what tv time I've had was devoted to stanley cup and formula1 . I'll move it up the list cause I keep hearing good things.

I agree wholeheartedly George; a real walk-off grand slam of a production!

Yeah George that series was riveting. My niece visited last week from Seattle and brought her boyfriend (late 20's), we were eating dinner and talking about shows. When we mentioned Chernobly, the both of them had NO idea what we were talking about.

I was a little dumbfounded at their bliss to this major part of world history, let alone a catastrophe.

I'm getting old I guess, but that show was astonishing and so...so unnerving on how the USSR handled the situation..."take him to the infirmary-he is delusional"

Everyone was so afraid of getting shot.

Wow.

Two best lines from the series (both from Valery Legasov played brilliantly by Jared Harris):

"Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later that debt is paid."

and

"Why worry about something that isn’t going to happen? That’s perfect, they should put that on our money.”

I really enjoyed it. I hadn't even heard of this series until I saw this thread. Thanks for the recommendations everyone.
