Welcome rws !

What do you collect ?

Ron

I have started with Winter WWII. I am planning on making a Battle of the Bulge diorama. I just acquired a Winter Tiger(440/999), German Tanks Rider, Winter Warrior 1 and 2, a M10 TD, and 3 other American sets. I also have a M18 Hellcat that my parents got me when they went to England in 2005.I look forward to going into other themes later, but for now i must complete the Diorama. Any suggestions how to make trees and landscapes(mountains, trees, and snowy floors). Oh and one more thing is looked down upon if one paints a item, i really want a winter king tiger.

Richard

For my Winter German diorama - I used White Felt Cloth as a base (with glitter) and then put the fake snow on top of it. It helps you save your fake snow and you dont need to use that much of it. You mainly use the fake snow for the corners and cracks in between your felt cloth and you use the fake snow on trees and buildings.

Also the White Felt gives your base of diorama a real look to it with the glitter and the fake snow.

Hello mate welcome .I'm one of the bad boys who trys to upset everone but I will try to be good now.I too collect WW2 and have already built a buldge dio.I used corn flower and it looks great for snow but you have to have it in a display cabient or the stuff gets everywere. You can flick it on everything even the soldiers and it brings them to life.Good luck and happy building.

Thanks Simpson and Ron really apreciate the ideas. I have some old law cases so i think that will be able to use the corn flower and maybe have the m10 burried in snow. But i do have a question simpson does the corn flower come off. And simpson can i see you Battle of the Bulge Diorama

Yes the corn flower comes off no problems .As far as I can tell no paint damage and its been Four months. No digital camera so no photos yet but working on geting one soon. Thanks for the reply.

A Winter King Tiger would be a cool addition to go alonside the Winter Tiger.
No King Tigers on the market at the moment so It may be a possibility in the nearish future I guess.

Welcome Richard, hope you enjoy it here at Treefrog.:)

I can get a WS67 for a good price and if some one would paint it that would be sweet, but if not i guess i can just wait.:(

I will post it soon - I just need to get two more items for it and it will be complete. I have been sideline a little on buying Toy Soldiers due to my wedding coming up - but dont worry we will be on track in Sept. ;)

You see the lesson here, always get married BEFORE you start collecting!:D

or never get married=/

;)Welcome to the TF Forum. Old piece of advice from an old piece.."never say never." I have used dried up sticks from out side with a little shredded sponge for trees along with a spritze of the appropriate color paint.
I think that the WS71 KingTiger would be OK for a winter diorama.
Having fun is the most important ingrediant.
O.C.:D
