I didn't know that there was a thread like this so I didn't introduce myself sooner.
I'm 73 years old and I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada during the summer and move south to Florida for about 180 days in winter. I retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the Canadian Forces in 1993 after having served for 27 years.
I owned a few Britains as toys when I was a kid but didn't start collecting them until last winter. I have always thought that I would like to collect them but never did anything about it. When I was starting I was looking for antique figures but got drawn into more modern stuff. I have a partially completed diorama of part of Rorke's Drift. I'm also working on my other soldiers using a shadow box style of display, sort of a mini diorama. This hobby has drwn me into not only collecting but building wooden models, sculpting in clay, painting etc. I'm having a great time.
My other hobbies are wildlife photography and birding.
that's me in a nutshell!
