I couldn't find a thread that this fit into, so I thought I would try this one. This came out of the estate I am helping a friend with. I was hoping someone might be able to recognize what the painting is trying to represent. The painting is signed R Deaca, but I didn't have any luck finding the name. Thank you for the help. He looks like an officer from the British 11th (Prince Albert's Own) Hussars, the 'Cherry Pickers' .

Here he is dressed in full dress uniform of the Victorian era, and this famous regiment was part of the ill fated Charge of the Light Brigade in Oct 1854. Your painting could be in 'campaign clothing' at Crimea?

I hope that helps,

John

Yes that is a great help. Thank you very much. Now if I can only figure out how to get the photo up and down instead of side ways.
