Hi all I figured I would start another thread kind of like Chucks daughter did & just try & keep this one rolling. I am going to need tons of help some things I just cant seem to find in the books. The first one I need help with is this truck & an approximate value 1st picture http://s5.photobucket.com/user/Kyle68/library/?view=recent&page=1 I found one that looks close on ebay that looks close but I just don't wan to misrepresent something or ask way more than its worth. http://www.ebay.com/itm/231341540479?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Any one ! I know mine looks similar but not exact just because this is what I found on fleabay does not mean that would be close to my asking price . I cant find the name or number on it . I encourage any one to email me kyle@madmonkeycycles.com or call me @ 813-270-0000 You will most likely have to leavea message but I wll call back asap.

Kyle -

If you include the photos directly on the thread people are more likely to see it and comment. Not as many will click on a link.

To add photos, copy the URL of the photo itself, in this case it's http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Kyle68/30sarmytruck_zps6aa83ba7.jpg. If you right click on the photo in PhotoBucket it should give you an option to save the URL (in Chrome...in Internet Explorer you will need to right click on the photo, go to Properties, and manually copy the URL listed).

You can then click on the 'insert image' icon that appears in the editing section:
ForumPicAdd.jpg

Choose the 'URL' tab and paste the web address of the photo into it (make sure it begins with http://). That way the photo will show directly into the Forum thread.

Kyle,
Are there any identification markings of any kind on the bottom of the truck? Be very careful when flipping if over. Make sure to set aside loose pieces. I can't tell you how many times I had to chase loose pieces across the room before a dog pounced on them before I learned my lesson.

I've also got some similar figures but I have not looked into them too much yet.

I cant find any markings on it unless I am going blind after staring at all this stuff. LOL I learned about falling little pieces real quick. I did do a bunch of searching last night & this morning before I seen this & to the best of my knowledge from digging thru websites it looks like its a Tippco Truck. These soldiers are Barclay I was able to find 2 of them in the book to. As you know this is going to take a while.

Are they Barclay ?

We're thinking along the same lines. Dimestore, definitely, but whether Barclay or Manoil, needs to be determined. I always reach for my copy of O'Brien's "Collecting Toy Soldiers" for these. Checking now....

Scoot, you're right, this one is a Barclay. To me, it's the helmet that is the clue; it's obviously a separate piece, which is what Barclay used originally. The figures were hollowcast, with a casting hole at the top of their heads, and the helmets had a clip that fit into this hole. Later, they dispensed with the separate helmets and modified their molds to cast the helmets integrally with the figures.

This one is "702 Machine Gunner", in Barclay's catalog. Contemporary collectors also ID it as "B10", with "B11" to identify the version with the cast helmet.

Prost!

I found these today & was able to identify them pretty easy. I thought they were neat so just figured I would share them. I just learned they fire not sure if them parts are up there or not. I am getting tired of running up to the 3rd story my knees are not liking me.

There are 3 of these guys up there that I have found so far but one of them I cant see any markings on & his helmet is a little different & his head is cocked a little more to the side. I guess it is one of the later ones maybe yall were talking about.

I have quite a few of these most are numbered like this or say Germany or something on the bottom of them. Any one know what brand they are so I can try & identify them & what they are worth.

Also these they look like Barclay or Manoil from what I have learned so far but I did not see them in the book. I could have very well looked over them though.
