G'day all,

I hace sent the third email in as many weeks to area21@21stcenturytoys.com regarding a drooping 1/32 Jagdtiger barrel and have still received no reply.

Am I barking up the wrong tree here, or is there a better way to contact them regarding finding a replacement ?

Cheers
:)

I love their product, but don,t believe their customer service is top notch.

I wrote once to them to request information, and never received answers... in addition their site is badly made: we can only see planes! Neither tank nor soldiers! However there are well the logos "cold steel", "32X" etc... but impossible to click above!

21st Century are bulk suppliers rather than small niche marketers like K & C. Therefore if you can't get a replacement tank from the store you bought it from you may as well forget about it.

How about it guys can he soak it in hot water or something like that to staighten it out. Any Ideas on repairing it. ?

Thanks everyone for the replies :)

Pity there is no positive regarding 21c service...they do have some nice models though, I agree and yes, the website is a bit !

I have tried the hot water treatment - many times with no luck and then the gas burner...just the right distance although the paint began to bubble ever so slightly. All my attempts to rectify the barrel with heat etc. have so far failed to make it correct and any further efforts would only continue to damage the paintwork. Heat also seems to make the plastic more brittle.

The two barrel halves (horizontally if you haven't seen one) appear misaligned contributing to the bend and the apparent high quality and memory of the plastic means it fails to hold a shape - I have tried a well modelled "camouflage net" draped over but this still cannot hide the pronounced sag.

I could not see the barrel properly when purchased due to the way it was packaged so that is a lesson in itself. The only other 21st C stuff we have here is the Chaffee (Cold Steel- very nice model) and the Sherman/PzIV double set which seem OK for the price ! Plenty of FOV and a few K & C also ;)

Next step will be to try some old TV aerial telescopic rods or similar to see if I can come up with a decent straight one in the correct scale...the barrels on these are so huge I really wanted to get this straight...but then I miss the point of collecting readymade stuff if I spend too much time fixing them up !
