I have a DD 23 Stuart. This is one of those tanks where the cannon was not attached to the tank itself but you had to fit it in. This was subsequently changed fortunately.

I have lost the Cannon and obviously getting a replacement is probably out of the question. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I would take a wooden craft dowel. You can find different thicknesses from a AC Moore or Michaels. Get a thin one that would fit in the hole. I then would take sandpaper and start to taper the barrel toward one end. Paint appropriate olive green and no one will know. Probably would end up more straight than original...And then kill whoever you would tell it is a fake to, in order to protect future resell value. Michael ( now in hiding )

I would send an e-mail to Gordon Neilson, and see if he has any spares at K&C Headquarters.

Louis,

That's an excellent suggestion. Thanks very much.

Brad,

If that's unsuccessful, how about seeing if any of the many 1/35th aftermarket aluminium / brass turned barrels would be close enough in dimensions.

Simon

Last year K&C sold a few extra kubelwagen drivers, tank crews and other miscellaneous items that were on hand. (Stocktaking? Can't remember the reason but most dealers received a few pieces). Perhaps they dumped any duplicate barrels at the time but you never know your luck.

You might want to check with some of the sites resident artist, it would suprise me if they couldn't come up with something better than original.

If I remember the DD23s that I've seen the 37mm guns were a little "heavy handed". Sorry, but that's one of the limitations of polystone. I'm sure we could work something out with a replacement cannon. Some of us could either build a new gun tube or get a hold of an appropriate aftermarket barrel, fit it in place and touch up the paint.

Try www.squardon.com and see if you can find medal barrel that will work. This is a mail order hobby shop in Texas I use

Try Accurate Armor. They sell metal armor parts including track links. http://www.accurate-armour.com/ ...but I think they are in 1/35 scale though. Shoot them an e-mail. It doesn't harm to try.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Initially, I am going to follow Louis' suggestion and email Gordon. Hopefully, that will pan out. Thanks again. We have a great fraternity here of people helping out others.
