Hello All,
Approximately 13 years back I bought the Napoleonic French artillery train set below at auction. It was suggested that it may be Hinchcliffe, not convinced. I am not concerned on the maker re value but would like to know who made this set.
Not had it on display for sometime, the space problem. Hoping to get it on show soon but may, if brave enough improve the ground work.
Yours,
Douglas

It looks to me like a gun team produced by French maker MHSP (Miniatures Historiques de Soldats de Plomb ) they came as castings and are from the 1970's. The range was released in the 200's with recasts made in China and sold by ATLAS.

Here are a couple of pics on sets I have painted, showing both sides, and both mattes and gloss finish and this is the MHAS website: https://www.mokarex.fr/index_mhsp_uk.html

I hope that helps?

John

For your interest MHSP make some more wagons and horsedrawn equipment that few others make.

Many of these are still available, but they need finding, usually on EBay but from European sellers.
As they are unpainted, the castings will need a 'lick of paint', I have done with all these ........

They have partly re surfaced here, this specific set with the gun, as Orange Rubber separate Moulds, from a Company originaly based in the United States that specialized in "re issuing" certain figures and gun kits etc in 1/32 Scale. Ive got the Artillery train driver horse and figure and gun parts, right here on my Mantlepiece. The U.S. "Orange Moulds" are of doubtful origin in our view, as they included things like Herald Trojans etc, and a heck of a lot of Napoleonic Britains and Airfix origin figures too. I think they were issued here in France about twentyyears ago by a French maker too.

Yes, I know a shop in a nearby French town to me an antique shop who has a cupboard full of all these, they are definately French origin figures, in unpainted white Metal. A shop in Calais also had a load of those a few years back I saw. Prices a bit steep nowadays as out of production aparently here.
