Hi Everyone.
I am new to the forum and wondered if anyone could help me with the identification of the sets in this frame.
I bought a number of framed sets at auction recently, as there were a number of frames per lot, i have some to add to my collection and some to sell.
I believe that the top set is 225 The Kings African Rifles, but I have no idea on the others.
Any help would be most welcome.
Regards.

Tim.

Not sure of the names but pretty sure the middle figure in the bottom set does not belong.

Hi There,

I will jump in to My Britains book later but Scott is correct on the figure in red on the bottom shelf. He is a general officer that came in a set with several aides all mounted I will post the set number later. The ones in white are a US Navy's landing party or something similar. It’s a very nice example with the officer. I will dig out the set number for you. Do you have more?

Dave

Can you see whether the box lids are behind the boxes? That is, are the boxes nestled into their lids? If they are, you could see which labels are on them.

Prost!

Hi Dave, many thanks for your help, if you can find them I would be most appreciative.
In answer to your question, I bought 19 frames with 1 or 2 sets in each. below are some pictures20171125_141413 - Copy.jpg20171125_161346.jpg20171126_091617 - Copy.jpg20171126_091816 - Copy.jpg20171126_092519 - Copy.jpgthers, they were framed and used for interior display in a high end London store.

Hi again, those are some great sets and an interesting way to display them! I will give you an update on what I posted last night. The officer in red mixed in with the soldiers in khaki is the general from set 201 called GeneralStaff, Review Order. It was a four figure set with a General (your guy) a field marshal who looked nearly the same but has binoculars in his hands that move up so he can view the action. Plus two mounted aides de camp the set was produced from 1946 till 1959. More to follow on the US Navy figures

I thought at first sight that your sailors were probably American Sailors from set 1253 but yours appear to have a thin blue stripe on the flaps if this is the case they are from set 2100 Which is called Venezuelan Military School Cadets, with officer, Venezuelan Infantry with National Standard and Venezuelan Sailors with Officer. Three sets of 8 figures initially and were produced from 1955 till 1964.

More to follow

Dave

Looks like you have two sets of Kings African Rifles which were set number 225 and were produced before WWII in the late 1920s and then repacked up after WWII in 1946 till 1959 and then reduced in figure number and run in 1966 as set 9162. I think your twos sets are post war but I don’t know enough about the labels on the other set shown to tell you it’s earlier. Maybe one of the other guys here will know the labels better.

Hope this helps you

Dave

One last note the guys in the frame with your General are set 229 USCavalry, Service Dress mounted at the walk. Ran from 1946 till 1959 and was a 4 figure set I believe . These guys were also issued as part of a couple of other sets that included infantry.

Hope this helps you
