Hi All,

I sculpted a Herman Goering figure using only the head of a rare 1/35 Roco Military figure set originally comprising DeGaulle, Churchill, Hitler, Rommel, Stalin, Eisenhower and Goering. The physiognomy on these figures was very good but their legs were too short, all being modelled to the same height. I used for ref an old Blandford book by Mollo/McGregor on WWII uniforms.

You may want to also look at another Goering figure which I have just uploaded onto my album 3 on my profile page.

Hi All,

resculpted bits of it and added details to the cap and epaulettes. Painted and finished. Now working on DeGaulle and Churchill.

Hey, Vick, well done! Looks like a Stadden casting, well done indeed!

Prost!

Hello Brad,

Thanks for the nice comments. I gather you have been busy as well...:).

Victor,

I am looking forward to Churchill and DeGaulle.

Perhaps, you might consider doing the Big 3 at Yalta seated so to avoid the "short legs" issue.;)

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Hi Raymond,

thanks for your comments. You might be familiar with this old Roco set. The figures are all done to a fixed 1/35 scale height. What I try to do is to take each figure, look at the best way to re-represent it, and then resculpt to resize it to 1/32.

In the case of DeGaulle (coming), I had to add a full 15mm height to represent a tall man. I reshaped Churchill's head to represent a bulkier figure and so on. More on them later.

The big three? Hmm, there is a Stalin figure in this set...

Rgds, Victor
