It is really interesting to see other collectors displays and how they look. Tel me what made you come to the decision to display them this way? From what I can see you have at least one of everything in each of the periods you collect - right?
The Hessians have not been "deployed" to my collection in Washington as of yet - still been working on the Napoleonic period. But ...

When I started out ... I liked to display the troops in a mini scene, much like the way you have the Old Guard vs the Russians, I will have the Continentals facing the Redcoats. However, things have got a little crowded, and I am on the lookout for another curio cabinet.
The next best thing was to display the troops in lines ... and the stepped up stands are ideal for giving the rear rows some lime light.
Speaking of Hessians ... I particularly like the very life like officers.
