Here are two Argentine themed sets that I don't have a clue as to what the story is behind them. Both are non-catalog sets that must have been made for a customer in Argentina, or at least South America. One is called Argentinian North Army on Mules and the other is called Infernales de Guemes, Argentina. Maybe one of you out there can help us out on one or both of these sets.

Thanks for the information on the Infernales de Guemes, Jim. It is a Gaucho regiment formed in 1815. It is currently the 5th Regimiento de Caballeria Ligero "General Guemes." They are wearing their historic uniforms. I see that they have a band which would make an interesting and colorful set of toy soldiers.

I noticed that Hiriart has added one of these two sets to its catalog: 1355 INFERNALES DE GUEMES, ARGENTINA. I found a color plate that shows the Gauchos mounted, but I believe Hiriart's set is on foot; in any case, I have put this set on a future order so I can see what it looks like.
