I brought 24 Hiriart sets to last week's West Coaster show. I sold eight. In numerical set order, the first set was 1129 ROYAL NAVY WITH CHURCHILL to a new toy soldier collector---this was the first toy soldier set he ever bought. I gave him a catalog CD and my card. I wonder if I will ever hear from him again? This is a stock photo. All the sets were MIB and tied to their tie cards.

Next was set 1148 IMPERIAL GERMAN TOTENKOPF HUSAREN. This is probably my personal favorite of Hiriart's Imperial German cavalry sets.

The third set sold was 1156 FRENCH CHASSEURS ALPINS. This is always a popular set with collectors.

The fourth is a non catalog set, 1156 FRENCH CHASSEURS ALPINS BAND, which was sold to the same collector who bought the nine figure catalog set in post #3. The collector's name is Clayton and he has bought both Hiriart and Bastion Models sets from me at previous West Coasters. The band is one of two special commission sets I had made for me a couple of years ago.

Two of the sets I bought with me were camel corps sets which are always popular. The first was No. 1325 SUDANESE CAMEL CORPS, 1897 which was sold on Friday during room trading. The collector who bought it is, Lon, a physician from Huntington Beach who has bought about two dozen Hiriart sets in the past.

I sold the other camel corps set at the show on Sunday: it was set No. 1326 BRITISH CAMEL CORPS, EGYPT.

Now that is another very nice set Mike :salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks Marytn. They seem to be popular; I have never brought a Hiriart camel corps set to the West Coaster that didn't sell. Maybe I should order more of them in the future.

It is a good idea, but not as easy as it sounds. My annual 120 set Hiriart orders fill up so fast with firm orders that I don't have many open slots left for re-sale sets. For example, I have just a few re-sales on the 2014 order and none on the 2015 order.

The last Hiriart set I sold at the West Coaster was a non-catalog set of WORLD WAR II BRITISH INFANTRY to Ed, from Nebraska. I hadn't seen him at the West Coaster in several years, maybe even four or five. He had previously bought about a half dozen sets. I didn't see him during room trading so he must have flown in just for the Sunday show.

Finally, two views from my room on the 7th floor of the Irvine Marriott looking west towards John Wayne Airport. It was 80 degrees on the weekend of the show.
