Michael, how do these size up to Hocker, Dorset and Wessex? Also, are you a dealer and would your price structure be similar to Patron, without the excess shipping charges? A PM to me would be fine if I was not supposed to bring up the subject...Michael

Hi Michael,

While I am not a dealer, per se, I do import Hiriart figures once a year from Uruguay. Coincidently, Part 2 of my Order #7 with 50 sets is being delivered this morning. It includes 25 sets for me, 14 sets for other collectors, and 11 sets for general resale. I would say that they are classic 54 mm figures that size up nicely with those other companies mentioned. They do not, however, match up at all with the spate of 60 mm figures being produced by other companies. Priority mail shipping with delivery confirmation is about $15 to the east coast for two sets. One set weighs 2 lbs 8 ozs and two sets 3 lbs 8 ozs for shipping purposes, to give you some idea. Please contact me at matara42@roadrunner.com if you would like a Word document catalog list of the 340 sets Hiriart offers. Thanks.

Here is another eBay offering today from patron3085 in Central America. It is a non-catalog version of set 1055 PRINCE ALBERT'S OWN, THE 11TH HUSSARS, but wearing winter cloaks. He is asking $150 plus $25 shipping. I have also attached a photo of the catalog set for comparison purposes.

Hi Mike - Love these again. I note that Maddicus was asking earlier on about size when compared to other firms and mentioned Dorset as one of them.

Well, coincidentally, I have recently finished painting some 54mm castings of the 11th Hussars from Dorset Soldiers - so maybe it would be interesting to directly compare some with the Hiriart version. I actually painted up a Band as well - but have taken out the Escort group to post here to compare. Hope that's okay with you. Here's the Hiriart version again - and below it find my painted Dorset versions. I think that they would go very, very well together. johnnybach

Note that there are many differences - notably that I always add bases to my mounted figures for stability.

Hi johnnybach,

Wow! Those are very nice. Both are charming in their own way. Thanks for sharing.

Maddicus ordered a set from me so now he can do his own size comparisons. Maybe, he will comment on what he thinks.
