HIRIART British Infantry, Sudan, 1881-1898 (1 Viewer)

Here is another example of a variation on an existing Hiriart catalog set offered on eBay today by patron3085 for $180. It is BRITISH INFANTRY, SUDAN, 1881-1898. I have attached, as the fifth photo, catalog set 1164 as I have it in my collection where there is an officer, flag bearer, bugler, and six men, wearing white helmets and web gear. The set offered by patron3085 appears to be suitable for the Boer War, too.

I have always wanted a set of Boer War British Infantry in my collection, so I have decided to order the set as patron3085 posted it on eBay, except I have changed it slightly so that the set will have an officer, Union Jack flag, bugler and 6 men. Unfortunately, my Hiriart order book is so full that I had to put it on my 2015 order for Damian and me.

One of the things we all enjoy about the Hiriart collections is the potential for variations on a theme. These are are examples created by simply using different heads from my Sudan collection.

Those are really nice! It is really interesting how a minor head change can give a different look to a set. I think my favorite of the three versions is the last one with the khaki helmet head bands.
