HIRIART French Foreign Legion & Colonial Africa Sets (1 Viewer)

Here is a special set based on 1202 FORT SAGANNE (ARAB INFANTRY). I have ordered several of these catalog and add-on sets for other collectors and me. The first attachment is a stock photo of the standard catalog set and the other two photos are the add-on set. Interesting subject matter for those of us who like the unusual and rarely seen uniforms.

Hiriart made a special, non-catalog set of TIRAILLEURS SENEGLAIS which has the figures running at trail arms and wearing white trousers. Catalog set 1137 has them marching with all blue uniforms and wearing sandals, as per an earlier post. Since this set has eight figures rather than nine, it was probably made for Stefano Allorini's SAIMEX Toys in Italy.

In one of the earlier posts on this thread, I attached a photo of a non-catalog half band based on set 1131 TIRAILLEURS ALGERIEN TURCOS. Here are some photos of the full band, as I ordered it for my collection, which has 20 figures rather than the nine figures in the half band. Hiriart has always agreed to make a non-catalog band set for me based on any existing nine figure non-band catalog set. This is just one example.

Included in Friday's shipment were three sets of 1170 LEGION ETRANGERE FRANCAISE, 1990. One set each for Alan, me, and resale. I also ordered one extra man to go with my set. That way I can display them (1 X 3 X 3 X 3) with an officer leading the flag bearer who is flanked by two men and then followed by two rows with three men each.

The third FFL set I received Friday was 1108 LEGION ETRANGERE FRANCAISE, 2ND REGIMENT, SAIDA. There were two sets: One for Niels (in Denmark) and one for Randy. Niels ordered his set with two extra men.
