Thanks Martyn. Glad you like them... I just realized that I described the set in khaki as Camerons. They are, of course, Seaforths.

John,

Those early version Hiriart sets with ten figures are really nice. As you know, you and I have the current catalog nine figure set (number 1173) of Black Watch, Egypt, 1882 coming in the next shipment from Hiriart in October. I can hardly wait.

John,

Your khaki Seaforths are really neat. As you know, in October, we are also scheduled to receive set 1100 Cameron Highlanders, colonial in khaki as attached.

John

Those 19th C colonial sets are outstanding. I love the setting you have placed them in too.

Welcome to the forum. Great to see another Hiriart collector:smile2:

Randy

Thanks Randy. Just for fun, a picture of the collective infantry regiments on campaign...

John,

Those are two great sets that I have not seen before. Based on their uniforms, I wonder if the Seaforths in Light Khaki are from the Boer War? Is there a number in the upper right hand corners of the tie cards for each set which would indicated what year they were made?

Mike,

I had not seen them either until I saw them in the auction catalog. Sorry, there are no date stamps on the tie-cards. The boxes are about two inches shorter than the current version but the same depth and width. I thought the Seaforths might complement the WWI ANZACS but haven't checked the regimental history. if anyone else can place them, please let us know.

John,

I believe Hiriart started stamping the year produced in the upper right hand corner starting in 2009. I'll ask them what campaign the Seaforths are from. Interesting, they are described as light khaki, but I would call it dark khaki. The Black Watch set is what I would call light khaki. Oh, well.

Guillermo got back to me regarding the Seaforths in Light Khaki. He says they are from the Anglo Boer War. Based on his answer, it sounded to me that his dad had made these figures before he retired and that Guillermo had not seen them prior to this.
