To All Interested Members of the Forum,
In this person's opinion it seems as though the Denison smock (originated and evolved during WWII) of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces, a definitive symbol second only to the "Red"(Maroon) beret, has recently been the inordinate subject of interest on this forum. It's as though each and every interested party, including myself, has wanted to contribute their personal knowledge on the subject. In the hope of providing definitive and comprehensive information (probably more than you will ever want to know) on the subject to each and every interested party, I am referring you to the following: http://www.paradata.org.uk/search/node/Denison. Hopefully the mass of information contained in multiple pages on that site will satisfy even the most insatiable quest for knowledge.

Thanks, fast scanning reveals that there were two base colors...sand initially followed by a 'greener' base in '44. Interesting

Informative post. Based on this info it would be quite possible for Airborne unit members to wear several different variants of the Dennison smock while still being assigned to the same unit ^&cool
