So I'm a member on a few Facebook diorama groups, this afternoon I posted a small diorama with a building that has a burned, torn Swastika flag on it, in NO WAY promoting hate speech or Nazi Germany in any way, but within minutes members from both groups commented the flag could cause me to be removed from the groups or Facebook lock my account...I understand the history of the flag but erasing history, battles, Wars, flags doesn't change what happened years ago, again I'm in no way promoting the Swastika or Hitler, the 3rd Reich...but if we are forced to remove or delete everything that someone finds offensive we are bound to repeat events of the past.

We live in an age of Idiocracy. There are radicalized folks who run companies like Facebook who make Orwell's Big Brother look like an amateur. I do wonder what Orwell would have made of these social media types, including writers and actors being the advocates for censorship rather than totalitarian governments. That would have blown his mind.

It’s terrible but are you surprised?

Maybe we should remove all the people, figures, that fought for the flag? The likeness of Hitler and his henchmen can be purchased freely.

Can you post it here so we can see.

Here's the photo, nothing more then a small diorama

Great looking diorama if you ask me !
Some people use political correctness etc to hide behind and are in fact just spiteful trolls usually hiding behind fake profiles without any talent themselves who get get some sort of pleasure making others feel uncomfortable whenever they see the opportunity.

FYI, no one in those groups removed your posts or reported you. Facebook, like many other social media platforms these days, has a tool that automatically detects swastikas and other such symbols then deletes those posts and sanctions the user. I am not arguing in favor of such tools, I just don't want you to think that someone in one of those groups did this to you.

You may be correct, I don't know how Facebook or other forums use certain tools, but when real members call me out that I could be banned or locked out for a emblem that was front and center throughout the entire War....well sounds like we've come full circle when talking of banning people for a photo?? Hmm...that sounds familiar, where have I heard that 🤔🤔 oh yea, 1939-1945.

FB is so contradictory in how they police things it’s quite maddening. My son is half Chinese and he’s reported anti Chinese comments in the past but FB either doesn’t respond or says it doesn’t violate their policy.

Considering that you posted your photo in a toy soldier group, it’s hard to understand why it was deleted but that’s FB for you. I understand that they’re trying to watch for neo Nazi groups but they need to show discretion. One size shouldn’t fit all.

Not on Ebay you can't; you cannot sell ANY German LAH personality figures, anything showing a German flag or swastika armband, period.

If you do, like Sandor said, it gets flagged and removed.

Also, no Confederate flags either.

Their ball, their rules, it is what it is, they feel like those things are not in good taste, the Nazi flag is a huge no no with Facebook.

"Well it's part of history".....................it's used as a hate symbol, like the stars and bars, so it's off limits.

And those may be wise rules for them.
Still, we all understand the context on this Forum. It's a beautiful LAH scene. Glad you posted it here, where we understand what you are doing.
Best anti-Nazi, pro-Historical Wishes,
Paddy
