Well one of these finally arrived at my door today and I must say I am

impressed. It is quite a large piece measuring 17" X 10" and 3" wide. It is

constructed of sheet metal and nicely done with an excellent paint job. All

you really need is a little imagination to put this to work in your collection.

I found a pesky boy and his dog....lingering around mine.

The piece is well suited for many different types of displays, from

"the Sandpebbles, to Vietham, WWII Pacific, or course Tintin, Samurai.

It would be interesting to here Andy's original vision for the piece......why

sheet metal and what happened? Was it a new manufacter? Product trial?

All this make it even more interesting to me as a collector. Its fun to have a

piece or two from all the different mediums King & Country has chosen to

work with.

How about it Andy? Any details?:)

Point of information on the HK168 Village Gate, it has been stated that it was so rare that it didn't even come in a box.:D

Actually it did come in a very nice box, and was nicely packed in the usual
King & Country style.

Here are a couple of shots of the piece, and its packaging.:)

Really - that doesn't look like a professionally designed King & Country Streets of Old Hong Kong Box to me ?? Look pretty plain and brown box like ?

........................................................................................................

You must excuse the poor photographs. As we all know Andy has used quite

a few different boxes over the years. Fairly plain white ones with a King &

Country label, the green boxes, green plaid boxes, the new printed style. So

a plain brown box with a label for a run of 68 is not so unusal.

I pointed this out since I was under the inital impression that the item came

master packed with no indivual box.

Personally I like to have, and share as accurate an amount of informaion on

an item as I can learn. I also like to have the Original Box items came in

whenever possible!

Ronn here are a couple of better pictures of the box showing the new
exotic King & Country label.:D

I called Andy and he agreed to run any further box ideas past you before he
incorporates them into production.

He also said since yours what "Shipped direct from K&C" you didn't get a box
just the fancy Wing On Shopping Bag......he hoped you would
understand.

Oh just a point of information......since I used my speed-dial I may have been
speaking to Andy of Mayberry:D which may explain some of the strange answers I received.:D:)
