I should share this with the other painters here, my home-made paintbrush rests:


I had had trouble picking up brushes that I had laid down on the bench, and I had a thought about the chopstick rests that you find in Japan or China. So I took some Aves A&B and made these. I painted them with a gloss white enamel, to give them the look of fired ceramic.
I have other tools for storing my brushes, like a block of wood with holes drilled in it, and some old dentist's tool trays. But for the brushes I'm using at the time, and for other tools, like an X-Acto knife, these have come in handy.
