Honour Bound Gold Edition Tanks on eBay! Sturmtiger and Tiger with Diorama Base (2 Viewers)

It wasn't me although I did move the needle on both :wink2:

I was the high bidder on the Sturmtiger at $1,200.99 literally until the last second but was outbid by a sniper.:mad:

A tough loss. But the sniping may not have mattered.. looks like the bidder wanted both HB models and seemed ready to pay any amount to get them. Who knows how high his maximum bid may have been.

Is that shill bidding ?
Shill bidding happens when anyone—including family, friends, roommates, employees, or online connections—bids on an item with the intent to artificially increase its price or desirability.
Think it a fair question

Intent is the question, now isn't it? Did I say that I didn't want to win the items? No, I did not. I bid, hoping to win but, alas, it was not to be! Although the effect was to raise the price, that wasn't the intent. Next!

Those weren't shill bids - they were stink bids. I doubt you had any effect on the prices at the level of those bids :rolleyes2: ^&grin

wow! 1200 + is insane IMO. 600-800 is acceptable given the history and quality of HB gold edition tanks. I've spent 300 on a dragon tiger 1 Tunisia including metal tracks, voyager photo etches and other stuff and it will take me a few months to finish it. I guess I'm still getting used to the toy soldier culture. I mean for that kind of money you could probably hire a famous modeler and have an accurate sturm with photo etched parts. But that's just me, people do whatever they want with their money. ;)

Yeah, those tanks went for a heap of mulla, too rich for my blood I'm afraid! I'm interested to know how many of those Tigers were made, does anyone know?

All the Tigers were different. The Collector could customize his or her tank with the choice of the color, markings, level of damage, hatches open or close, weathering level, scene or not, and more options that I don't remember now. So the Tiger model must have produced between 40 and 50 pieces, all different.

For those who may be interested there is now a Sherman on ebay from Ana, not a gold one but nevertheless nice.

I listed a Winter Sturmtiger today and have a few others will go up soon (I am out of the office tomorrow so please be patient, I will list again when I am back! :))

That's nicer than the other one. Everyone out of Louis' way!

That's too bad. It was the same buyer as the other ones.

Whoever he is, he has very deep pockets!{sm2} But I am fine - right after I lost the auction, I found another really cool Steiff Soldier Doll, a British Officer in Khaki drill, for way less than I would have spend on the Sturmtiger, and it made me feel a lot better.{sm4}
