I know its a long way off but, now that my favorite ranges (D-Day & Bulge) have been announced for 2009, I'm thinking about next year already. This years D-Day releases were very nice but I only collect the American items. I know the LCA was used by American's too, but I just prefer the look of the LCVPs so I passed on the LCA.

I was wondering if anyone else only collects the American D-Day items and what you guys are hoping for next.

I'd like to see some more paratroopers along the lines of DD36 & DD37, which were retired way before my time in the hobby. For vehicles I'm still waiting for that M26 Pershing. Why not a single manufacturer has made one yet is mystery to me. As much as I appreciate Figarti's armor, I'm hoping that K&C makes one first.

I'd like to see some more American paras in action poses!:D

Or maybe injumping poses with chutes out, or before a drop, getting everything ready!:D

Would also like some more 3rd Infantry sets!:D:cool:
And maybe a Pioneer Corps set?:D:rolleyes:;)

More British armour!
Maybe some of Hobart's 'Funnies'?:D

Would be nice!

British armoured cars too!:D

I know how you feel Kurt, I can't wait for June next year either. I am hoping for some more Rangers. I would love to see Rangers on ladders and ropes like they used on Pointe Du Hoc. The idea of an M26 Pershing sounds great. I would love to see an M4 with a crab flail on it too.

Unlike you Kurt I've focuses my D-Day collection on the Commonwealth but I confess to having a few American pieces as well that I can't resist. I'd love to see a Pershing ( although that wouldnt' be D-Day would it ), GMC truck, hooded Jeep, and more Paras too! I think you'll see some of these in the near future. 2009 was the year of the Commonwealth, I believe 2010 will be America's year.

Cheers
CFM :)

That's true. In fact, it wouldn't neatly fit into any WWII sub-series. Perhaps that is why Andy hasn't done it and possibly never will. But, I wonder when exactly is the cut-off for an item to be included in D-Day line, the liberation of Paris, Market Garden? The M5 Stuart Hedge Cutter, Patton command car set, M3 Lee Tank (with Bogart) and perhaps others were not in action on June 6th. So, perhaps Andy would be willing to include it.

D Day is my biggest collection and I collect both UK/Commonwealth and US figures and vehicles.Over the years we have had some superb US releases inckuding Paras and infantry.I have a feeling next year will see the continuation of British and Commonwealth troops figures and vehicles.Andy did mention a while back about an LCT,I think we may also get another Tank to go in it.

The latest figures are proving very popular so i'm guessing we will see more Brits and Canucks, this would be very welcome.Perhaps a mortar team and as Scott said a Hobart 'Funny'.

Yes Craig i think you are right.Andrew very kindly asked Andy about more Brit/Canuck D Day releases and Andy said yes in 2010,including another Tank.Add this to the LCT he mentioned and looks like the Brits and Canadians will be getting reinforced next year.I really like the US Paras too and have most of them, however Andy did tell me a while back that he wanted a rest from making them as they've made a lot over the years. If they are to be released i'd go with your suggestion of 2011.But only Andy knows for sure!:)
