Is anyone else collecting these...I just got mine and they are lovely...the detail is sooooooo sweet...I'm anxiously awaiting their Persian foes...

Debrito had pointed this out on another thread...

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?31870-Hoplite-question/page2

but apparently it's been fixed or the photo he was referring to was an unfinished prototype...

the bottom line is...this figure is perfect...

GREAT JOB ON THIS SERIES!!!

Great looking figures, Michael. The shields are just fantastic looking. -- Al

Nice photos! You really made them look great. I am not going to collect them, but I might pick up one for my ancient group. Do you have any favorites of the ones you got?

Yes, very colorful bunch!

I already have a nice and complete East of India phalanx and a few Aeroart stand alone Greek warriors so, I won't be collecting these... Conserving funds for other stuff... Can't have everything... :(

Enjoy! :)

I understand...moneys tight and they are not cheap...I guess these are my 3 favorites...

if I had to go deeper than that...I would pick the guy on the far left...

the Athenian Marine...CF-028...he's the collector's Club figure...I love the anchor on is shield and his face...

Congratulations to you Partner!! I will watch as your collection grows. I am not going to buy these Greeks given the Roman releases this year but they are appealing to the eye.

Wow i didn't notice that one of the figures has Pegasus on the shield..Pegasus was the symbol of my city (i live on the ionian coast of Calabria , where many greeks estabilished them, it is even today called Magna Grecia )Locri Epyzephiri, we were allied of Syracuse against the Carthaginians..one more reason to buy it..:)

that's very interesting that this figure is the symbol of your city...

an Italian city choosing a Greek mythological beast I mean...

is Bellerophon used in any of the cities depictions of the Flying Pegasus...

Thanks for the pics of these figures from this new series. Its always nice to see the non marketing photos. I especially like the variety of shields. ^&cool I will definitely be picking up a sampling of this series for my modest ancient collection.....the hardest part is deciding which ones to pick. ^&confuse

Mike,

Thanks for the photos, I have the Athenian Marine and on the back of seeing your photos I have ordered AG01. More than a bit pricey but very nice all the same.

Jeff

Mike , here is a useful link to know more about my city:

One particular fact is that once "Italy" was the name given by by the greek emigrants only to this land (Italy means "The land of the calfs")now known as Calabria and then was extended to all the italian peninsula. The Locrians fought the second ever battle cronologically speaking (documented) on the whole italian territory , agaist the people from the rival "polis" Kroton:The Battle of the River Sagra..:)The legend says that "we " were helped by 2 warriors on horses:The Dioscuri.Returning to the hobby..i hope more figures will follow, i'd like to have some civilian figures too.:)

thank you guys...
ty CFM...I don't think you would regret owning any of these figures...
ty Jeff...yes...they are all pretty sweet...tough decisions on picking...
ty BK...the bases are a "pet peeve" of mine in photos...
