Well I had a couple of Lifeguard Trumpeters that were worse for wear so I thought I would give Jeff's painting method a try. Here is the result, not bad in my eyes and this is the first figure I have every done in gloss. I have painted many in matte before.

Thanks guys,

It's amazing the imperfections that you see on a photo but you don't see it when you are holding it in your own hands  Have a little touching up to do :)

Yo Sott paint it like this one mate:rolleyes: only kidding. Not a bad job there Scott, sending some Hussars to be painted:eek:.
Bernard.

Nice job Scott, looks really good!

And all the better for the abscence of green.
Could do with a base for the horse mind. ;)

Cheers Simon, yes I may have to look into having some bases made.

The white horse I stripped and repainted. The lifeguards and black horse have just been embellished.

Thnaks Dave,

Yes I still need to get some replacement horses for that. I have found a source but will cost me about $150 for all 6 and then I have to paint them. Holding off at the moment.

What for castings?

Jeff

Hi, Scott, I don't know where you're looking for Britains castings, but if you haven't tried Ron Ruddell's London Bridge Collector's Toys, I recommend him highly. He's an authorized Britains agent, to sell new figures as well as to make castings and replacement parts.

Here's the page from his online catalog, listing prices for horses:

http://www.londonbridgetoys.com/cseries.htm#mountedfigures

I haven't done the math, though, to convert dollars to pounds, based on his prices, and what shipping from Emmaus to Canada might be. But it might be worth it to you to give Ron a call. He's a nice guy and a great dealer.

Prost!
Brad

Thanks Brad,

The castings I was looking at were from Asset in the UK. I have seen the London Bridge castings but they are the old scale(1:35) and not quite ceremonial enough for what I need.

Cheers for the help though

Scott
