How About Some New German FJ Troops ? (1 Viewer)

The Schwim sold in November for $800 but a more logical price is in the $400 range.

I got all of the FJ sets including the Schwimmvagon when they first came out. I can't even imagine what the newer collector interested in the older pieces has to pay to get them. I don't think I could afford to get my collection at today's prices. I think I have spent as much in the last three years filling in gaps in my collection as I spent in the previous 10+ years building my collection.

I don't even try to fill the gaps in my collection now. And this is limited compared to your fantastic Museum Louis - what a priviledge it was to see the whole thing. ;) Too much new stuff coming out now, can't hardly keep up. :(

How about some new Germans

Hi Guys,

Re the above subject… wait till you see what’s in store in 2007. ‘Nuff said at this point.

Best wishes and… happy collecting!

Oh, what a tease! It is true, he's "a very bad little boy.":D

Oh, yes he is, enticing us the way he is, separating our money from our wallet and reducing our will power. In 2007, he's going to be even badder and Ana and Rick are his willing helpers

That Schwimmer and mg team is sweet-drool.
Well, Andy's post got me fired up-I can't wait to see what he's got planned.
I think that's been the hardest part of coming into 'the middle' of collecting a line with the rich history that K&C has-staying focused on 'looking forward' rather than trying to 'reach back'- it's just cost prohibitive for me to try to pick up some previous releases. NOT a complaint, the future is looking pretty sweet as well.

OOO i sense FJ's on the horizon.

That original schwimm does look cool. But I could never justify paying that kind of money for it. The most i've ever spent on an old piece was on FJ04. It was the one piece that my collection was desperate for and I consider it money well spent.

By the way what kind of camoflage is that FJ in the Schwimm wearing? It doesn't look the same type of splinter as the others in the FJ range.

Not sure what you mean James, there are some tank riders in some of the photos, is that it?

No the FJ sitting in the schwimm. One of the 3 figures that comes with it. His camo looks brownish as if it may be marsh pattern.

This might show the contrast better....it is different I agree, but some of them have plain tops - not sure that any of these are strictly regulation issue? Is anyone an expert on para camo?

I know a little from my 1/6th days. :) Man, those guys know their stuff.

The blue top is the fliegerblouse. They all would wear that under their jump smocks which are camoflaged. Fallschirmjager jump smocks (apart from the olive version) came in two basic types of camo. Luftwaffe splinter and marsh or tan and water pattern.

It has been speculated that SS Batallion 500 fallschirmjager may have had pea dot jump smocks but from what I gather this would have been extremely unusual and not that likely.

K&C's FJ's are luftwaffe splinter but that dude in the schwimm is something else. From the second picture it looks like it may be marsh but it's hard to tell.

James, I'm impressed.

Ditto.

Has anyone got a link to a good comprehensive pictorial source for German WWII camo patterns, both FJ and SS?

Google has failed me (or I've failed Google) and I so far haven't come up with a site that covers the wide range used, just bits and bobs here and there.

Simon

Here's a link to an online store that supplies reproduction camo items for both wehrmacht and SS camouflage.

It has some quite good pictures on it and is pretty good for reference
