I got mine for $125, but when I bought one as a gift for Larry Lo, I paid more than $200. The Clark Gable figure is one of my favorite glossy figures. Here's a quote from the book about it:
"The 1991-1992 Post card catalogue indicated that, available in mid-June, 1992, King & Country would release . . . the rest of the "Commemorative Editions", the 9 sets of pilots that go with the warbirds (including a Churchill Figure and a Captain Clark Gable Figure [designated CE8]). . . .
United States Army Air Force Captain Clark Gable stands with his hands in his pockets, wearing tan pants, a tan trench coat, windblown back and to the right, and an Air Force Captain’s peaked cap. He has a mustache and the famous “Clark Gable smile” . The figure originally retailed for $14. How Andy managed to produce this figure without being sued by MGM or Gable’s estate escapes the author. That being said, this is one of my favorite figures, far better sculpted and painted than the other pilot figures. It is an excellent example of the difference made when Andy started having his own drawings sculpted rather than duplicating the more typical glossy metal toy soldiers available at the time.
It should be noted that the Chinese painters who interpreted Andy’s instructions concerning painting this figure chose to depict Clark Gable with a fu Manchu mustache and Asiatic eyes, rendering the effect of the figure somewhat comical."
