Just tried to post photos to a new album I created. Haven't posted any photos since the upgrade to this site. Seems like the type/size photos I used to be able to post to my albums won't anymore. Keeps telling me they are to big and need to be resized?? Don't understand this, never had this kind of problem prior to the forum upgrade. Can any body give me some tips on what I now need to do differently. I hope this won't be a hassel - I have always enjoyed sharing my photos of my collections through my forum photo albums . . .
:( Mike

You have to reduce the size of the photo before you can post it. The old format re-sized the photos to the forums guidelines that is why it was never a problem. When you re-size them save as different file name so you don't lose the original. I usually use paint shop as it is the easiest.

Now I can say I really liked the old format. Scott, I appreciate your attempt to help me but I still don't have a clue. Is paint shop software I have to acquire and load onto my computer? I'm really perplexed . . . clueless in Wisconsin . . .

Hi Mike,

If you are using Windows it comes with it. I wonder if the way we upload can be altered, this is a pain to have to resize everything.

I have the same problem as mestell. My pictures are now too big and I can't put anything into albums anymore - Okay - no more pics in albums - they are now on photobucket.

It too tells me to re-size - but I haven't a clue where to start doing this. johnnybach.
Must be something that changed before update - as I learned how to do it from Britfarmer's guide and was a okay until changeover.

We'll look into it this weekend...

Thank you very much Peter. It sounds like more than myself would appreciate anything you can do to make having a photo album "user friendly". If it can not be changed I guess I won't create new albums or update the old ones I have.

Can we order the photos now, in this version, or does it still order them as latest-uploaded displays first?

Prost!
Brad

Mike - I've changed some settings which got shifted in the update.

Please try to upload them once again and let me know if it works.

Do you know the size of the files you are attempting to upload?

Still no luck Peter. These are the same size of potos I used to upload into my current albums before the change. They range in size from approximately 250 to 350 KB.

Is it saying that the image file is too large...or is it saying that the dimensions are too large?

Thanks for the image...I think I have it fixed now. Please try one more time! :p

YOU ARE THE MAN Pete . . . . awe the sweet smell of success. Looks like its up and running. I'll continue to play with it this evening. I'll let you know if I hit any snags. Again, thank you very much . . ..

Hi Peter,
Hesitate to add to your tasks given the on-going formatting challenges. Two requests for learned insight when you catch your second wind. First; the old edition of Manage Attachments did in fact have a table of allowed attachment types and sizes. In one of your responses to a previous query, or in the FAQ Sections, it was stated that this in formation was available in the Manage Attachments section. Unfortunately I can’t seem to find it, could you please assist? Second, in the new edition of Manage Attachments how do I delete jpgs, etc., I have uploaded to my file, but no longer wish to retain? Thank you very much.
Regards,
Jim
