How I spent my WestCoaster Vacation (1 Viewer)

Ray, great comparo pix there.

These are the measurements of the Canadian built Chev 1533X2 the LRDG used:
L - 219in/556cm
W - 80in/203cm
H - 58in/147cm
Wheel base - 134in/340cm

A true 1/30 scale model would be: 18.5 cm long x 6.8 cm wide x 4.9 cm high with a wheelbase of 11.3 cm

What would these measurements tranlate to in inches..? Thanks, Michael

OK,
I measured the Figarti model,
Got the measuring stick out, not sure on where exactly to make some of the measurements but I got from th rear edge of the tailgait to just behind the front bumper was 18.5 CM, across the back tailgate is 7.5CM, at the leading edge of the bed of the truck, from top to bottom is 4.9CM and from the center of the wheel axle to wheel axle is 11.7. all these are a little rough due to eye balling these over uneven surfaces and poor eyesight
Sounds **** close and I think it's safe to infer from the pics. that the K&C version is a bit on the small side. I'll let another with the K&C version do the work there and we'll compare notes.
Ray :);)

Thanks Ray for your pictures and West Coast Show report. I appreciate it. Leadmen

Hi Michael, here are the approximate values in inches.

L - 219/30 = 7.30 inches
W - 80/30 = 2.67 inches
H - 58/30 = 1.93 inches
Wheel Base - 134/30 = 4.47 inches

Thanks Ray, it seems that the K & C's version is a bit smaller than what it should be. However the proportions of their figure to vehicle look ok to me based on actual photos of the trucks. But maybe the K & C figures in the vehicles are also under 1/30, and it wouldn't be the first time

And thinking back I recall that the early Figarti SAS/LRDG figures seemed to large for the Jeep they were in, one of the desert's mysteries perhaps ;)

Oz,
I don't know if you have the K&C LRDG set but it appears to me that the driver and passanger are undersized to fit the vehicle, they might even be undersized next to the guy in the back but there definately smaller than the individual K&C LRDG figure sets in my opinion.
I got to tell you the Figarti sets are really growing on me, I really like them.:)

I do intend to get an LRDG truck to back up my little Dingo armoured car against the Afrika Korps hoard taking over my shelves but haven't made up my mind yet as to which one. However I have seen them at the local K & C dealers and agree that the cab crew figs do seem smaller compared to the single figs.

Figarti just get better and better, their new Mark IV is good value at $199 considering the low production run and terrific detail. I hope we get a Figarti dealer downunder soon.

Oz,
Yes, have to say what they do is impressive, just not enough of it. I really like the versatility they show with there products, at the risk of sounding to feminine, I love to accesorize my sets and I think thats the kind of hook Figarti ought to hang on to. Looks like they've incorporated this philosiphy into the MK IV as well with the removable skirting and so forth. I've already been changing the loads on my Figarti LRDG vehicles.

One thing to keep in mind on the Figarti LRDGs is that they are extremely limited. According to Rick, 30 have already been presold by Clive in Europe, leaving the rest of the world with 170 as they're only making 100 of each. So, if you want to get one....
