How Many Lines Do You Do ???? (1 Viewer)

I have all the Bastogne sets, the majority of the D-Day paratrooper sets (I am re-creating the battle at St. Mere-Eglise), Normandy, and am working on Iwo Jima next. I just started a couple years ago but it has really become a passion. A lot of people don't understand it. I'm glad I can come here and talk to other collectors.

We are all here for each other :D Toy Soldier Collectors Unite ;)

This has been my collecting habits thus far:

Britains metal: ACW, Napoleonics, Crimean (Gloss)
Britains plastics: ACW, American Revolution, Knights 1960's Swoppets/Heralds

Conte metal: ACW, Alamo

St. Petersburg: Selection of Romans, Celts, Carthaginians, medieval knights

Aleksey's Napoleonics

John Jenkins: French & Indian Wars

East of India: Greeks & Persians

K&C: Napoleonics (Looking to add ACW, Crusaders & Saracens, Alamo, Romans & Barbarians)

Tradition: Napoleonics (Gloss), Zulu Wars (Gloss)

Good thing I limit my collecting to pre-1900 eras... How do you guys do it, collecting all those tanks and vehicles, etc... must be a lot of shelf space used and bigger boxes to store...

I started out just like you. I wasn't interested in anything post-1900. Then I saw K&C wood tanks and aircraft. Now I have 52 planes and about 150 Tanks. Believe me, the first time you have those tanks and planes to complement your figures, its all over!

You know Louis is right - that was me (and still is to some degree) I was - am I think - a strong NAPOLEONIC fan. But, when I came face to face to a K&C Sherman 105 - DD45 - it was all over and now I am on this slippery slope called WWII

D-Day
Waffen SS
Berlin 38
Fall of Berlin
Bulge
Afrika

Space is running out......

If I ever fall trap to collecting anything post-1900, I would consider K&C Battle of the Bulge. The winter look is what I would be aiming for to add some diversity in my display cabinet. We have to remind ourselves, that history occurred in the winter too. Actually, maybe an American Revolution winter collection could be in the future... is Andy listening???

Ok here are the lines that I collect:

K&C:

WWI
Waffen
Eighth Army
D-Day
Russian Army
Fields of Battle(am I the only one who collects this line?)
Afrika Corps

Britains

Civil War - this is a complete collection with the exception of the new civil war Britains line that has come out because the sizes dont match each other

WWI

Also, have some corgi WWII planes and corgi helicopters(Vietnam era mostly)

In all my years of collecting Ive learned that its not about what you dont have, its about cherishing and making the most of what you do have

Well guys, I'm blown away by the lists I've been reading - must cost you all a small fortune, not to mention the room you must all need to display/store it all - anyway, I'm a relative newbie to TS collecting, and have deliberately limited myself to the following so I can still afford to do other things as well:

Waffen SS
Fall of Berlin - Germans only
LAH

I'd love to collect more - but then I wouldn't be able to do my reenacting and airsofting or keep the car on the road.....hey ho - you can't have everything in life - :)
