I know this may also be personal and if we are all HONEST...perhaps we can see if we are about the same or if we really do have a problem....
So here it is and I will be as honest as possible...

I spend on average $500.00-$600.00 every two months, is this anywhere near where the rest of you guys fall?

WELLINGTON

Of course I was also playing catch up for the past year!!

Wellington, just go ahead and start buying WW2, that line is the absolute best.
I spend whatever it takes to satisfy my collecting habit.
Having said that, I,m approaching my golden years, kids married, house paid for, THIS IS WHAT I ENJOY!

What is more expensive to collect Napoleonics or WW2...I think it's Napoleonics....I would be satisfied with a tank release and a few guys at $200.00, If lets say the Kings German Legion is released I buy about 16 at $25.00 each which comes to $400.0, a tank and a few guys sure seems like alot more than a regimant of KGL.......The Napoleonics really is never ending

WELLINGTON
The last Napoleonic variations release..10 calvary was $700.00 with tax maybe a little more......

With 16 KGL you could almost buy the four new AK sets and the value of the Grief has already increased. But I suggest you buy two WWII sets that you really like and see what happens.

I won't be buying any WW2 sets.....But think about it one Napoleonic calvary guy at $76.00 U.S. is almost a tank and two guys it doesn't add up to me.....

WELLINGTON

Oh yes none of the Napoleonic stuff has increased!!!!

YET!!!:D But I think there would be a buyers' frenzy if anyone listed the early, glossy K&C Napoleonics on eBay.:)

You maybe right and I do know you have many of them.......Lucky you..:) What else do you collect in K&C Steven? There must be alot of Napoleonic collectors for K&C out there other wise I can't see Andy continuing the line.

Hi
I probably spend about $300 or so at a guess,We also have the problem of the exchange rate working against us a US $99 k and c tank is $160 in NZ
dollars with postage on top of that.I only have one display case though so i tend to sell a couple of pieces to make way for new stuff ,which keeps it in check for me.

Because I buy and sell to support my K/C keeper purchases, it is hard to quantify, but about $200 a month would be avg. expense....Michael

Too much but my expenses are balanced by what I sell on ebay to an extent.

I also probably spend about $500.00 every two months. My problem is that I like to get the entire release at once. I have no self restraint.

I buy in collection growth spurts of $500 every so often. I live in a tiny apartment so I often have to sell to make room. Occasionally I swap, mostly with collectors, occasionally with dealers for new sets. It used to be self-financing but not any more. I probably spend about $5,000 per annum but nett perhaps only about half that.

It's spread across about half-dozen 'favourite' dealers. I occasionally give someone else a chance but I still have my preferred dealers, notwithstanding the fact that I've rarely ever had a problem with any dealer. Occasionally I splash out on a trophy item on eBay, usually a retired vehicle to showcase the part of my collection that's on display, and that's what pushes up the overall annual figure but otherwise I'm often content to think about what I'll get when I buy a bigger apartment.

Hi Wellington!
I've been playing catch-up as well. Now that I've caught up (Almost 3 months and  $3000 later), my planned average will be pretty close to yours, if not less for the time being. The tanks are out of fuel and the supply lines have to catch up.:( So I'm taking a little break from WW2 to check out K&C's American Revolution and Napoleonic ranges. Good thing they are sold individually. :) (Just a couple of weeks ago, I wouldn't have considered checking them out. Go figure.)

This is one question I really did not want to know the answer to. However, my curiosity got the best of me. Yikes!!!!! It is much worse than I thought. In 2004 and 2005, I spent $14,163 on toy soldiers and that does not include the three new curios I bought in 2004 to keep them in. I spent $5,071 on eBay, $4,698 at the West Coaster and Chicago shows, $2,2294 from other collectors, and $2,000 direct from dealers/manufacturers.

This is clearly some form of mental illness, since I am right at it again this year. Let's see, I am currently putting an order together for more than $3,000. I already have spent more than $1,500 at the 2006 West Coaster and $878 on eBay. Not to worry. I drive old cars. I currently have a 1998 Ford Windstar and before that I had a 1988 Toyota Camry with 225,000 miles on it. So, it is really just a matter of one's priorities in life. Isn't it?

As you say, it's a matter of priorities. My car is a 1997 Suzuki Swift with 178,000 kilometers (110,000 miles) on it, long time paid and cheap on gaz. I don't even have insurances for my damages. The next time I will have to change my tires, I'll change my car. Meanwhile, I'm buying K&C tanks and figures and have much fun than paying for a car.

Pierre.

I've been averaging about 700.00 to 900.00 per month the last few months. I was never into cars. I drive a 90 Toyota 4x4 with 215,000 miles on it. Best vehicle I've ever owned. I'll be sad when I have to put her down, but for now she runs like new. Plus cheap car insurance (very important here in NJ). I'd rather spend my money on something I enjoy, then a car sitting in the driveway depreciating everyday.

UCLA1967, thanks, I don,t feel so bad now on what I spend.
Of course I now feel like I,m driving a limosuine (05 Ford Focus) compared to what you guys are driving.
