I was 80% but I think the test was inadequate. My momma was from Mobile and my daddy's family came out of Birmingham early last century. I don't have any yankees in the woodpile. :wink2:^&grin -- Al
 
One hundred percent Massachusetts Yankee for nearly 400 years! Test shows me as 53 pct Southern . . . must be run by one of those government contractors!

Now I know this test is faulty. My wife took it and it says she is 72% Southern Belle. Well, both sides of her family are straight out of Minnesota. I can only assume that this is the result of her many years of being exposed to my family and the southern heritage of Maryland.:rolleyes2::wink2: -- Al
 
100% - and I didn't need to take a test - I was born in Cardiff - South Wales - in a house next to the River Taff - and a stone's throw from Cardiff Arms park - where some of the finest Rugby in the World is played. ::rolleyes:;):D

Hmmmmm, Let's see............... I spent my first 19 years of life growing up in Bergen County, New Jersey. Joined the army and after Basic training and (AIT) Advanced Individual Training I went to Fort Hood, Texas for 2 years. 15 years of service later, I wound up at Fort Hood, Texas again in 1998 where I Retired from in 2002.
I have been in the deep south....Texas for a Grand total of 18 years now and counting. When I come here to New Jersey as I have been here for the last month, everyone
says.............."Man.......You have one hell of a Southern accent"
So I guess I am more Southern than Yankee ! :rolleyes2:
 
You could be a modern version of "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" :wink2:

I lost all rights to anything Southern when I told my wife that 'wall are going to the movies' (referring to me and my sons). My wife asked what "wall" was and I said "we all", just like y'all is you all. After that she banned me from ever being considered Southern.

One is not a true Southerner unless one uses ain't and can't (rhymes with ain't) in public conversation without being self-conscious. And I ain't just whistling 'Dixie'. :wink2: -- Al

Does being from the Southern States of Australia count??^&grin I scored 80% and my good rebel mate Tim Tyler thinks I qualify and we fly the bonnie blue flag here Downunder. "Hurrah, Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag" Love that song. I think I must have lost the final 20% for not putting fruit in my beer. Those Texans have some strange habits.^&grin

I did not take the "How Southern Are you" Test cause that test is...RACIAL! (I am kidding) HOWEVER COMMA, I took the "How Texan are you" test and scored a 100% thank you very much. I do believe that there are a couple of South prerequisites that must be checked off to be considered a southerner. For example:

-A bottle of Tabasco sauce is on your dinner table.
-You eat some sort of "Chicken Fried" something or other once a week...I do.
-A jar of pickled Jalapeños is in your fridge.
-You open the door for a lady and say "Ma'am" when she enters or leaves.
-When someone lets you in in traffic you wave "thank you"
-You say please and thank you...alot
-You address people as sir and ma'am
-Eat Mexican food like a Mexican
-Eat BBQ like is supposed to be eaten, i.e no knife and fork
-Eat Crawfish boils with no utensils either
-Drink Sweet Tea not Tea with sweet and low...gross!
-Have a Soda, not a Pop
-Have some COUTH about ya!
