Hudson & Allen Clinic in the Treefrog Treasures Room (1 Viewer)

Thanks for your reply Ken. Will Britains be displaying the new Witt home piece in Chicago by any chance? Just curious.

Either a Rorke's Drift scenic base or just a bit of grassy terrain suitable for Isandlwana (sp?) would be interest to a lot of us I suspect.

Thanks again.

Re:More Hudson & Allen Shelf Scenics

Hello There!
I thought that some of you might like to see one of the 28" X 11" winter self units. This one is 'Somewhere in the Ardennes 1944'. It features a snow covered slope with three shallow fox holes at the edge of a stand of fir trees. The foxholes have removable timber covers to protect from air bursts.

This image is for scale reference. A cold GI (K&C) peers across the open ground. This diorama is also designed to be book ended with a second unit to create a 22" X 28" diorama, or displayed separately.

Here is an overhead view to show the slush, snow and mud (all H&A products) used to create the snow covering and the muddy tracks in and out of the front line positions. The grass poking through then snow is resilient and figures can be placed there as well. The removable log covers are camouflaged with pine boughs dusted with snow.

Here is the final view for tonight. The third foxhole also has some of our handmade sandbags...filled with real sand. These are permanently fixed into place at the edge of the foxhole...a technique I will cover in one of the Treefrog Clinics on Saturday at the OTSN show. These scenics are designed to be used with any of the 54-60mm figures currently available.
Thanks for looking!

Ken,

I've been admiring your work that you've posted. I look forward to possibly meeting you at the show and seeing how you do your work!

Hi There!
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the Treefrog, W. Britain or Hudson & Allen Room. I guess I will be getting some exercise this year running back and forth. The scenery clinics will be in the Treefrog Treasures room on Saturday. The times will be posted at the show.
All the best,
Ken

Ken,
Thanks for posting the winter pictures, they are incredible, really looking forward to seeing these displays up close and live in person at the show..................

Ken,
Are these scenic dioramas going to be just at the show or our you eventually going to mass produce them to sell? By the way they are great.:):):)
Mark

Hi Mark!
These dioramas will never be 'mass produced' They have been and will continue to be hand made right here in Michigan as custom bases and scenics.
These have been made in our studio with the same attention to detail that we have always used in our exhibit and museum work. The difference is that we have designed these to be 'figure and vehicle collector friendly'... and just as important... affordable.

At Chicago we will be offering 11" X11" square bases with various ground treatments that match our 11" X 28" and 11" X 14" shelf dioramas.
The concept is that you will be able to extend the central self diorama with additional sceniced sections if you want.

The individual small scenic items such as hedgerows, dugouts, barbed wire entanglements, fences and trees can be placed on the sceniced squares, the main self dioramas...or on your shelf alone.
We will continue to create these scenics after the Chicago show, but how we might market and ship these is yet to be determined.
Thanks for your interest!
