I...

like probably everyone else here....

have admired Ken Osen's work for a long time...

I just received a small base that Ken made for me today and wanted to show it off a little...

this mat really simplifies taking pictures...

pretty much lay out your figures and shoot...

the grass work covers the bases really well and is so realistic looking...

very delicate looking but very sturdy for usage...

I'm very happy with this base and definitely endorse it for anybody who has thought of buying one...

this is a great product...the grass seems suitable for several eras and fields of battle...

As many of you know...I have tried making my own...and this blows my work away...

I'm going to have to download some "more suitable" backdrops...but this should give you an idea how nice his mats are...

Very nice Mike,
I'm starting to think about something nice like that.

Mike

Great choice--you can't beat Ken and Ericka's bases for realism and ease of use. I have gotten a lot of mileage out of mine.

I agree they are outstanding and very realistic, unfortunately it costs almost the same again for the cost of the mat to be shipped to the UK otherwise these would certainly be my first choice for grass mats.

By the way like your little shot of the redcoats repulsing a highland charge!

Hello!
I was just reading your post about the expense of shipping to the UK and thought I would double check the costs myself. We don't, as of yet, have a UK distributor but we ship all over the world and shipping prices vary depending on the destination. The grass mat shown above was 18" deep by 30" long and was $130.00. The cost to ship a package that size (34"x22"x4") to the UK is $54.00, for a total of $184.00 USD.
All the Best,
Ericka

Hi Ken

Thanks for that, it seems I was clearly over exaggerating by saying that it was almost the same amount again for the UK shipping as the base, but still by going on todays conversion of those prices it would cost about £90.00 for the grass mat and £36.00 to ship.

As I've said on numerous occasions on this forum your grass matting is awesome and worth every penny, but to me as a UK collector another £36.00 is quite a bit on shipping (not that you have any control on that), and I was just saying if it wasn't for this I would be snapping your mats up like mad! :D

I remain a BIG BIG fan of your work! :)

Michael, that does look really nice. I might have to look into getting something like that myself.

I'm gonna say this again...

this is a very nice product...

the grass is long enough to hide the base with just a minimal amount of work...

of course profile level angle shots work best...

basically find a bckdrop and shoot...

very realistic...the best I have seen so far...:D
