Hi Guys,

Here are a couple of pix of our K&C diorama / display to promote our new ‘Vietnam’ U.S. Marines in action during the TET Offensive of 1968.
The building is using an adapted version of our ‘French Bank’ which has been repainted and amended with Vietnamese signage... and a Viet Cong flag!
The walls are from the upcoming 3 x Wall Section set... but painted differently to match the house.
The Marines are just some of the ‘Advance Party’ of this exciting and dramatic new series.

Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy

That wall is perfect for the poses Andy. Nice to see a such a great building to back this series up. Robin.

Andy,

do you think you could 'plant' a couple of palm trees in the lawn ..... would really look like in 'the tropics' then :) :)

Well done on the conversion of the building from Europe to SE Asia, it really fits in, but so it should with it's colonial heritage ......

Looking forward to seeing some of the 'locals' in the months to come to add into this series :)

Hi John,
You hit the nail on the head...That's why I called the dio...'A work in progress'...There are a few more interesting elements I will be adding before it goes on display this coming Friday!
All the best,
Andy.

Looks great and the Bank really gives the scene purpose of an objective for the Marines to take. Any chance of releasing this adaption of the Kelly's Heroes Bank for collectors ?
As John mentioned a bit of tropical vegetation would enhance the scene.
On the two unto now unseen Marines in the pipeline in your scene, the guy prone firing and standing by him, is that a pair of Binoculars in his hand ? We'll be needing a Marine Sniper too please !

I have to get involved in this range!

With this quality of a work in progress, I wonder what the finalised work will be...
This series is fantastic, no way I will be able to hold back of diving in it head-on! The poses are great, the possibilities endless. I wonder what you have in stock for us regarding the VC's, NVA's, and SVA's. Keep'em coming Andy!

Beautiful Dio..i noticed that in all the many scenes filmed in Hue during the offensive there's no Marine dressed or equipped as the others, everyone is different. I've noticed that there are also a lot of obsolete weapons..so i'd like that Andy took note of this too..in the hands of a "dark green marine" i've seen a grease gun or sort of with a longer barrel, i've seen m1 carabines, obviously m14, plenty of LAW and bazooka. I know that Andy will surprise us as usual ..but i'd like to see soon the weapon that helped to win back the city: the 106 mm recoilless gun..and i'd like to see also some personality figures produced..Colonel Ernie Cheatham first, with his great size and helmets with goggles..and also the various captains commanding Golf, Hotel and Fox (Batcheller of Alpha company was wounded on the road to the city in the first hours of the battle, but he's a character too with long handlebar moustaches), also Pvt. Freddie Gonzalez with LAWS ..he was the only one to get a MoH..postumously..

Lots of good suggestions and ideas my friend...And always welcome to add to the multiple ones that the K&C team and yours truly already have going forward.
One small point though...'Pvt. Gonzalez' was actually Sergeant Gonzalez when he won his Medal of Honor.
Best wishes, happy collecting and many thanks for your contribution!
Andy.

Sorry, you're right..Sgt. Gonzalez commanded a platoon when he was killed. Thanks for the answer Andy!

Love the wall! Can't wait to add another platoon of Marines to my collection!

Hi Steve,
In answer to your questions:
1. Adaptation of Kelly's Heroes Bank into University of Hue Building..?
Probably not Steve...I turned the 2 dimensional Bank Facade into a 3 D structure which works great for a medium sized display BUT would be expensive to produce and ship overseas.
However, I am going to 'post' some pix later showing our Marines together with some of our 'Streets of Old Hong Kong' buildings...Remember most Vietnamese towns and certainly large cities had 'Chinatowns' within them.

2. Marine Officer/NCO with Binos...Correctly spotted Steve! We've already got a sniper...Might even have a painted sample at the Texas Show!!!
All the best and happy collecting,
Andy.

Cheers Andy, Yes as you say it'd be a killer with postage. Yep I've already been eyeing up some of the Streets of Hong Kong Buildings as possibilities !

As the line progresses, how about a couple of Water Buffalo, would like to see you issue your previous half submerged on, as that'd be great for Rice Paddy dioramas. Also civilians working in Paddies and squatting, could double for VC suspects !
I saw on a youtube video on Vietnam, what looked like a double of the LOJ Ox cart so I'll be adding that at some stage to a rural diorama.

Keep up the great work.

Steve
Look forward to seeing some photos of the Texas show and any new Marines from both lines that might preview at the show.

This is from an old brochure showing the buffalo in the paddy, and the civilians ..... who may not be 'suspects', but VC anyway !!!

Thanks John, Yes and would be good if hopefully Andy & co could update them and re-release. Pretty certain a lot of people would like the M113 too.

Well Done

Hi Andy,

I guess you will be adding an M50 Ontos or a.....M113 ( in its versions M125 - sporting an 81mm mortar or the M106 with a 107mm mortar) or the earlier M59? Or something heavier as a M551 Sheridan Light Tank or a M41 Walker Bulldog?

Thanks John...Now, wait till you see what's coming next...Mobile Artillery anyone..?
All the best,
Andy,
