Hue '68 (1 Viewer)

I'm impressed with all the figures so far previewed in this forth coming range of which I can see I'll be adding to my collection and I'd like to add to Semperrandyfi suggestions that perhaps we can have a Marine figure or two handling / firing the LAW's.

I hope we'll see also ARVN figures..:) i know many US servicemen despised them..but in Hue they played a great part in the Imperial Citadel... i want to point Andy and all the staff at K&C about the size of the figures..:) ARVN and PAVN (and vietcongs) were very diminutive compared to the green giants.

Private Cowboy; "We'll trade you some ARVN rifles, ain't never been fired and only dropped once"................"rest of the squad laughs"

Yea I just heard today R Lee Ermy died. I don't think there is a scene in a movie that I watched as many times as the one in Full Metal Jacket where he "greets" his recruits in the barracks.

Great film!
Ermey was in the marines for many years, was a drill instructor and served in Vietnam. He made up many of his own lines.
" What is your major malfunction ??"

Full Metal Jacket and Kelly's Heroes have by far the most memorable one liners of any war movie.

Full Metal Jacket beats Kelly's Heroes by a nose IMO, maybe because the one liners were sprinkled into a movie about true life events and it wasn't intended as a comedic bank heist caper.

Full Metal Jacket was filmed in the UK in an abandoned factory complex, the original palm trees flown in were plastic, they looked awful, so they went with real ones. Anthony Michael Hall was given the role of Joker but turned it down, Modine did a great job with the role.

Animal Mother was my favorite character..................

When Ermey entered Heavans Gates he was met by the Virgin Mary who stated she was proud to take a dump in his barracks they were so clean.

Rest In Peace, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman...R. Lee Ermey's depiction of the Drill Instructor in 'Full Metal Jacket' was the 'real thing' in more ways than one. An outstanding performance from an outstanding Marine...Semper Fi, Gunny!
Andy.

I loved his military series, "Mail Call", "Lock and Load", and recently "Gunny Time". So for me I believe this calls for a memorial watching of "Full Metal Jacket". and I'll throw in "The Siege of Fire Base Gloria", " The Boys in Company C", "Purple Hearts", and "Sommersby" also.

Boys in company C. What a classic. A young Emery in his DI prime. You can’t beat him and the Spanish DI in the opening 10 minutes of that movie. Most people haven’t seen his portrayal in that movie. It’s a must see opening.

And the Vietnam figures have landed here today! If you did not pre-order them you can order them and have these and the D-Day sets shipped first thing tomorrow :)
