I must have done something in a former life because why else would I have become a Met fan. After watching the bullpen for the seventh time blow a lead after the 8th inning (and twice in the last two days -- ok, yesterday, they technically blew it in the 8th and not after), why was I born a Met fan. Why couldn't have the almighty been nice and made me a Yankee fan. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!:(

COuld have been worse, you could have been born CUBS fan.

It is not too late to convert. I am sure that there are many who will instruct you in the Yankee doctrine and theology:cool::cool::D:D

I live in Philly now. Nothing to brag about.

I have to agree with Eborris, you could have been born a Cub fan.

All sensible people who were born as Cubs fans become White Sox fans as soon as they realize that they can root for a Major League Team.:D

As a long timed ,spoiled rotten Yankee fan, I am going to need grief conseling, for our missing the playoffs this year...:(:(:(:mad:Michael

I'd give you some sympathy, but your Phils are about to sweep my Brewers out of the wild card lead.

I became a Brewers fan in 1982.

The Brewers last made the playoffs in 1982.

The Brewers only post-season appearance was 1982.

The Brew Crew is seriously blowing it. Didn't they do this last year? I thought that even if they lose tonight, they'll be ties with the Phils. In an odd way, that helps the Mets because there is still the safety of the Wild Card although the Astros are coming on fast. That's a team no one wants to face right now.

Yikes! I guess I should count myself very lucky that my grandfather was an Usher/Security person at Yankee Stadium for 30+ years. I was raised with no choice but to root for the Yankees and the defending Superbowl Champion New York Football Giants. As a result, I have enjoyed 6 World Series Titles, 10 American League Pennants, 3 Superbowl Championships and 4 NFC Championships in my lifetime.

If I were a Mets/Jets Fan I would have 2 World Series titles, 4 NL Pennants, and 1 Superbowl Championship.

If I were a Cubs or Brewers Fan, I would drink and curse a lot more!:D

"It could be worse Brad, you could be a Jets fan as well."

Great point; today without Brady the Patriots beat Lord Favre and the Jets.

If they can't beat us now, they're never going to...........40 years and counting since the last SB for the J-e-t-s, J-ust E-nd T-he S-uffering....................

The Brewers had their chance, the Cubs were folding like oragami and the Brewers contined to lose, the Cubs were just looking for an excuse to blow it and the Brewers didn't get their foot in the door. Too bad, I hate the Cubs.

The Rams, need I say more!
Gary

Gary,

The Rams have only been in St. Louis since 1995. They won the Super Bowl in 1999 and the NFC Championship in 2001. That's a heck of a lot better performance than any of the other teams we are talking about.

Now if you had said you were a St. Louis/Arizona Cardinals fan, I would have had sympathy for you. By the way, Gideon's Grandfather played for the Cardinals back in the 50's.

Yeah we didn't like them Cardinals here in Chicago either, that's why they went to St Louis, don't worry someday the Rams may return to Cleveland and the Browns will end up in Boise.

If you are being punished, what about the rest of us? Many fans of other teams endure similar troubles or much worse. IMHO it is better to be in the hunt than simply irrelevant. After being a consistent winner or contender in the late 60s to early 80s, the Orioles have consistently buried themselves, apart from a brief resurgence in 96 and 97. Since then, their seasons have not have broken the .500 mark and they have finished an appalling average of nearly 30 games back in their division; not how bad is that?:( Fortunately I do remember the Robinson / Palmer days; and did see them blow out the Yankees in the house of Ruth last year but it was like spitting in the wind. And then of course there is this year; only 22 games back at present but it is only September 15th:rolleyes: Maybe we could trade Divisions with the Dogers; then we could fight it out with all those other sub .500 teams.:(
