Very nice Mike, the Jenkins look good also as a cartoon photo. I tried it with some of my Britains and the result just isn't the same.

I love the musket coming through the window as the only sign of the speaker--very clever.

This made me laugh...a lot. The dio is great; I am just amused by how Michael's mind works. Is the kid standing on a stool in there?! :)

Mike,
I think your great-grandfather could be the start of a new range.I wouldn't want to mess with him.

Mike:

If your family ever decides to do some historic re-enacting, I recommend French Old Guard or British Heavy Cavalry because that's where they assigned you giants!! :)

At a mere 5' 10", I would have ended up in the midget light infantry.

WOW Mike your great grandfather was a big man. We are tall in my family, I am the shortest at 6 foot, ranging to a cousin who is 6'7"

At 5'8" and shrinking I would qualify for midget wrestling in Mike's family.:D

Hahaha...I might send John that photo...

he was...a striking figure of a man...

very rugged and tough from the stories I was told as a kid...

He always looked like a Cossack to me...even more of a Turk than a Greek...but we were raised Greek Orthodox..which is very similar to Catholicism...my mother was German...Schroeder was her maiden name...

my father was a big man...6'4"s tall...spoke and read Greek...a second generation American..a self made man...he graduated from SMU at the age of 20...magna cum laude...a brilliant man that had a successful career as a CPA...a great father, husband and friend...

my father's parents refused to come to his wedding to my mother...because she was not a "Greek girl"...in time...they finally came around to her...she was a great mother and wife to him...

honestly...if you lined all the fathers in the world up against a wall and told me to pick one...

I would have picked him...everytime...

I had a great Dad...he was my best friend...:)

Hahaha..

we're tall...we're gonna be Grenadiers...

even my sister is 6 foot...

that with her husbands 6'4" frame explain the overgrown nephews I'm sure...

you know the funny thing about the Greek women...

from my obsevations...

either they are strikingly beautiful...

or they are not...

some of the old Greek women from the church...are pretty scary looking...

some of the young Greek girls...

Oh My God...

classic beauties in a "Helenic" sense...

perfectly sculpted Meditteranian faces...

Sounds like a great life and family Mike.I also thought your great grandfather looked like a Turk but didn't want to start anything. After being ruled by the Turks for 4-500 years many Balkan peoples dressed like them.

yes...the Turkish rule over Greece...

I was told that so often as a child...maybe I just thought he looked like a Turk because all my Greek relatives said the same thing...

I know my grandparents loathed the Turks...

some of that was instilled in my father from childhood...I'm indifferent...:D
